CREAM CHEESE SWIRL BROWNIES
I'm a chocolate lover, and these cream cheese brownies have satisfied my cravings many times. No one guesses the brownies are light because their chewy texture and rich chocolate taste can't be beat. My family requests them often, and I'm happy to oblige. -Heidi Johnson, Worland, Wyoming

Steps:
- Preheat oven to 350°. Separate 2 eggs, putting each white in a separate bowl (discard yolks or save for another use); set aside. In a small bowl, beat butter and 3/4 cup sugar until crumbly. Beat in remaining whole egg, 1 egg white and vanilla until well combined. Combine flour and cocoa; gradually add to egg mixture until blended. Pour into a 9-in. square baking pan coated with cooking spray; set aside., In a small bowl, beat cream cheese and remaining sugar until smooth. Beat in the second egg white. Drop by rounded tablespoonfuls over the batter; cut through batter with a knife to swirl. , Bake 25-30 minutes or until set and edges pull away from sides of pan. Cool on a wire rack.

CREAM CHEESE BROWNIES
These are my favorite kind of brownies. I like chocolate, but I'm not into the serious fudgy-chocolate kind of stuff. With these brownies I can pick out the ones with more cream cheese and leave the more chocolaty ones for someone else (like my mom).
Yield makes one 9 by 13-inch pan

Steps:
- To prepare the brownies: Preheat the oven to 350°F. Lightly grease a 9 by 13-inch pan.
- Place the chocolate and butter in a microwave-safe bowl and cook on high for 2 minutes, or until completely melted. Stir in the sugar until well combined. Add the flour, eggs, and vanilla and stir until combined. Spread the mixture into the baking pan.
- To prepare the cream cheese: Place the cream cheese in a bowl and, using an electric mixer on medium speed, whip the cream cheese until smooth. Add the sugar, egg, and flour and mix until smooth.
- Drop spoonfuls of the cream cheese batter on top of the chocolate and swirl it into the chocolate by running a knife back and forth across the pan. Bake the brownies for 35 minutes, or until the cream cheese is light brown. Cool completely before cutting.

- Preheat oven to 350°F Lightly grease 13 x 9 inch baking pan. In saucepan, melt chocolate chips and butter over medium heat, stirring constantly. Set aside to cool.
- While mixture cools, make topping: Cream butter and cream cheese together then add sugar, eggs, and flour. Beat until fluffy and set aside.
- When chocolate mixture has cooled to the touch, wait about 10-15 minutes, then finish brownie base. Beat eggs, add sugar and mix. Then, mix in flour, baking powder and vanilla. Add chocolate mixture and stir, but do not overheat. Pour batter into prepared pan. Pour cream cheese mixture over batter. Swirl with knife edge to make marbled effect. Sprinkle pecans over top. Bake 45 to 50 minutes. When cool, cut into squares and serve.
