How To Make Homemade Easy And Quick Nut Mix image

Who doesn't love a handful of warm, spiced nut mix? They're salty, sweet, and spicy, and the different textures of the nuts make for an interesting mouthfeel every time! They're perfect for an appetizer at your next party, a quick snack on the road, or even as a homemade gift for the holidays! Just pop them in a festive can, tie a ribbon on the can, and you're good to go!

4 cups unsalted mixed nuts
1 T. sea salt
2 t. ground black pepper
1 t. garlic powder
2 t. cinnamon
½ t. cayenne pepper
2 T. brown sugar, tightly packed
2 T. real maple syrup
2 T. unsalted butter, melted

Steps:

  • Preheat the oven to 350⁰F.
  • Line a rimmed baking sheet with parchment paper. Set aside.
  • In a large bowl, place all ingredients expect nuts and mix well until combined thoroughly.
  • Place mixed nuts into bowl and toss with seasoning mix until all the nuts are evenly coated.
  • Spread nuts on the prepared baking sheet. Make sure that the nuts are on a single flat layer and that they are not overlapping. Use a rubber spatula to properly space out the nuts.
  • Place into preheated oven and bake for 8-10 minutes.
  • Remove from oven, stir nuts to ensure even toasting, and place back into oven for another 8-10 minutes.
  • Remove from oven and sprinkle with additional sea salt or other seasonings as desired.
  • Serve immediately or place into airtight container once cooled.

1 teaspoon water
1-1/2 cups roasted salted almonds
1-1/2 cups pecan halves
1 cup whole salted cashews
1 cup packed dark brown sugar
3 teaspoons pumpkin pie spice
1 teaspoon white pepper

Steps:

  • In a large bowl, beat egg whites and water until foamy. Add the almonds, pecans and cashews; stir gently to coat. Combine the brown sugar, pie spice and pepper; add to nut mixture and stir gently to coat., Spread into a greased 15x10x1-in. baking pan. Bake at 325° for 30 minutes, stirring every 10 minutes. Cool. 1 cup untoasted walnut halves
1 cup untoasted pecan halves
1 cup unsalted, dry roasted almonds
1 cup unsalted, dry roasted cashews
1 teaspoon salt
½ teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
¼ teaspoon ground cumin
¼ teaspoon cayenne pepper
½ cup white sugar
¼ cup water
1 tablespoon butter

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Line a baking sheet with aluminum foil and lightly coat with cooking spray.
  • Combine walnut halves, pecan halves, almonds, and cashews in a large bowl. Add salt, black pepper, cumin, and cayenne pepper; toss to coat.
  • Heat sugar, water, and butter in a small saucepan over medium heat until the butter is melted. Cook for 1 minute and remove from heat. Slowly pour butter mixture over the bowl of nuts and stir to coat.
  • Transfer nuts to the prepared baking sheet and spread into a single layer.
  • Bake nuts in the preheated oven for 10 minutes. Stir nuts until the warm syrup coats every nut. Spread into a single layer, return to the oven, and bake until nuts are sticky and roasted, about 6 minutes. Allow to cool before serving.
