DRUNK DOGS
This recipe has been passed around our family for years. I do not know the origin, but our family loves it. It is now a holiday tradition. It's simple and quick, made with cut up hot dogs or cocktail wieners, brown sugar, whiskey, and tangy ketchup! Serve these little dogs with toothpicks.

COCKTAIL WIENERS
A sweet and savory treat for any get-together that will sure be a crowd pleaser. It's cheap and easy to make in a slow cooker with only three ingredients. I make this for any get-together and it is always a hit! I was a little unsure at first about the grape jelly concoction, but I tried it and have never done it any other way. It is so savory with just enough sweet. I always receive or over hear lots of agreement with the taste of the sauce. It always disappears at parties, and the next day I have cravings for these cocktail wienies. Try it for your next potluck, back yard BBQ, or any event!

- Melt jelly and mustard together over low heat, stirring occasionally. Boil hot dogs for a minute or two; drain and add them to jelly mixture. slowly let mixture come to a boil. Cool and refrigerate until time to serve, then reheat before serving. These are better if made a few days ahead and reheated.

Steps:
- If using full-sized dog/franks, cut them into one-inch pieces.
- Over low heat, simmer catsup, jelly, lemon juice, and mustard together for about 3 minutes, stirring to mix well.
- Add"dogs" (whatever meat you select) and pineapple chunks and continue to simmer for about 15 minutes, or until"dogs" are hot.
- To serve, pour mixture into fondue pot or chafing dish to keep it hot during party serving period.
- Serve with toothpicks for spearing these tasty morsels.
- NOTE: Any dogs and sauce left in the cooking pot (not served) can be frozen to use for another party!
- VARIATION: This sauce is also delicious with meatballs.
- MAKE-AHEAD: These can be made up to 3 days before a party and refrigerated until time to reheat them.
- Or they can be frozen for up to 2 months before reheating.

- The Greyhound Drink. 1.5 oz vodka. 3 oz grapefruit juice. Fill a glass with ice and pour in your vodka. Add grapefruit juice. Stir. Then garnish with a lemon or lime wedge.
- The Salty Dog Drink. 1.5 oz gin (or vodka, depending on your preference) 3 oz grapefruit juice. Rimming salt. Rim a glass with salt and fill the glass with ice.
- The Salty Chihuahua. The exact same drink as the Salty Dog, but with tequila as your booze. Garnish with lime or grapefruit, depending on what you’re into.
- The Pomeranian. 1.5 oz pomegranate vodka. 2 oz grapefruit juice. 1 Tbsp honey. Shake all ingredients with ice in a cocktail shaker. Strain into a glass full of ice, and then garnish adorably with a bit of mint.
- The Bloodhound Martini. 1/3 oz gin. 1/3 oz French vermouth. 1/3 oz Italian vermouth. Shake well, and strain before drinking. Add strawberries as garnish. Remember to use that bloodhound nose to sniff out the good gin.
- The Great Dane. 2 oz gin. 1 oz cherry brandy. 1/2 oz dry vermouth. 1 tsp kirsch. Fill cocktail shaker with ice. Pour in all ingredients and shake. Strain into a chilled cocktail glass.
- The Bulldog Smash Drink (difficulty points awarded) Half a lemon. Half a peach, pitted. 6-8 fresh mint leaves. 1 tsp sugar cane syrup. 2 oz bourbon. .75 oz Cointreau.
- The Asta Collins (editor’s pick!) 2 oz vodka. .5 oz lime juice. 1 oz grapefruit juice. .5 oz simple syrup. .5 oz campari. Splash of soda water. Shake, strain, and top with soda water.
- Houndstooth. 1.5 oz gin. .75 oz endive syrup. .5 oz fresh lime juice. Dash of celery bitters. Splash of club soda. Shake all ingredients in a shaker with ice and strain into a glass also full of ice.
- The Regal Beagle. 1 ½ oz vodka. 2 lime wedges. 1 tsp honey. 5 oz grapefruit juice. Splash of dry white wine. Muddle lime with honey and add ice. Pour vodka and grapefruit juice over the top and add a splash of wine.
