THE BEST BANANA PUDDING

- In a large bowl, whisk together the pudding mix and milk until smooth. Add sweetened condensed milk, sour cream, and vanilla. Stir until well combined. Fold in cool whip until well incorporated and smooth.
- Reserve 12-14 vanilla wafers and 6 banana slices for garnishing. Cover the bottom of a large serving bowl with some vanilla wafers. Cover the wafers with 1/3 of the remaining banana slices. Scoop 1/3 of the pudding mixture over the pudding. Repeat layers with 1/2 of the remaining vanilla wafers, half of the remaining banana slices and 1/2 of the remaining pudding mixture. Repeat layers again with remaining vanilla wafer, banana slices and pudding mixture. Garnish with the reserved vanilla wafers (some crushed) and banana slices.
- Let set in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes or until ready to serve. Pudding keeps well covered with plastic warp in the refrigerator for about 5 days.

- In a small bowl stir together cream cheese and sugar until smooth.
- Stir into pudding mixture (I use the mixer).
- Fold in cool whip (I just stir it good).

- Whip two boxes of 5.1 oz Instant Vanilla Pudding with 6 cups of milk in a stand mixer or with a hand mixer. Beat the pudding for 2 to 3 minutes.
- Add in the whipped topping and in mix until well combined, creamy and fluffy.
- Layer Pudding Mixture on bottom of Dish. Then place cookies and sliced bananas on top of pudding mixture. Repeating layers ending with a pudding layer on top. Place in refrigerator for at least 2 hours to overnight until set and chilled.

Banana pudding is a Southern classic that can always be found for dessert at a family gathering. Though it may appear complicated with its many layers, making banana pudding from scratch is a breeze.

- In a large bowl, with a hand mixer, beat cream cheese until smooth.
- Slowly beat in sweetened condensed milk until entire can has been mixed.
- Add instant pudding powder and mix until smooth.
- Slowly add milk 1/2 cup at a time until all milk has been added.
- Now add vanilla extract and blend.
- In a separate bowl, blend half tub of cool whip until smooth. Set other half aside.
- Add 1 cup of pudding mixture into cool whip and mix well.
- Pour cool whip mixture into pudding mixture and blend - this will help prevent chunks.
- In a trifle dish or casserole dish, layer vanilla cookies, sliced bananas and pudding. Repeat layer one or two more times, depending on your dish. Top with remaining cool whip.
- Chill in fridge for 2 hours to overnight to allow pudding to thicken up and set.
- Serve chilled.

- 1. Follow the directions on the packages of pudding mix.
- 2. Add the whole tub of sour cream and half of the Cool Whip. Make sure it is well blended.
- 3. Chop the bananas and add them to the pudding mixture. Save 5 or 6 wafers.Add the remaining wafers to pudding. Mix well.
- 4. Smooth the pudding out. Add remaining Cool Whip on top, then crush the vanilla wafers and sprinkle it on top of the cool whip. Chill overnight if you want your wafers soft. If you like them crunchy, only chill for one hour before eating. Enjoy!
