CRAB AND CREAM CHEESE HORS D'OEUVRE



Crab and Cream Cheese Hors D'oeuvre image

I made this spread the last time I had company, it disappeared quickly. Next time I will double the recipe.

1 (8 ounce) package cream cheese, softened
1 tablespoon milk
1/2 teaspoon horseradish
salt
8 ounces crabmeat
2 tablespoons chopped onions
2 ounces slivered almonds
pepper

Steps:

  • Blend together all ingredients except almonds and put in shallow baking dish (salt and pepper to taste).
  • Sprinkle almonds over top and bake at 350 degrees until slightly browned on top.
  • Serve hot on crackers.

My sister in-law gave me this recipe when I was first married. Our family cannot wait to scoop these up as soon as they come out of the oven. These are quick, simple to make, and the ingredients can be kept on hand easily. Can use frozen English muffins without defrosting. Do not substitute butter for margarine as the consistency is changed with butter.

6 ounces kraft olde english cheese spread
1/2 cup margarine, softened, but not melted
4 drops hot pepper sauce
garlic powder
6 English muffins, split

Steps:

  • Mix all ingredients.
  • Spread on muffins.
  • Bake at 325 degrees for 15 minutes.
  • Cut into quarters.

1 (8-ounce) package cream cheese, softened
1 teaspoon milk
1 tablespoon instant minced onion
1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
1/2 teaspoon horseradish
1 cup (8 ounces) crabmeat
salt and pepper to taste
1 (2-ounce) package slivered almonds (optional)

Steps:

  • Blend together cream cheese, milk, onion, Parmesan cheese, and horseradish. Gently mix in crabmeat. Add salt and pepper. Put in shallow 1-quart baking dish, sprinkle almonds over top, if desired. Bake at 350° until lightly browned on top, about 20 minutes. Serve hot on crackers or as a dip. Note: Can be served without cooking. Simply add milk to proper consistency for use as a spread or dip. Keep refrigerated until served.
