I got this crack stick recipe from a friend on FB.

16 slice white bread (crust removed)
8 oz cream cheese (softened)
3/4 c powdered sugar
1 c sugar
2 tsp cinnamon
3/4 c butter (melted)

Steps:

  • 1. Flatten bread with a rolling-pin.
  • 2. In a bowl, combine cream cheese and confectioners' sugar.
  • 3. In another bowl, combine sugar and cinnamon; set aside.
  • 4. Spread about 1 tablespoon of cheese mixture on each slice of bread. Roll up, jelly roll style. Dip in melted butter, then in cinnamon-sugar.
  • 5. Place on an ungreased baking sheet. Bake at 350° for 20 minutes or until golden brown. Good warm or cold.

1/2 lb graham cracker
1/2 lb marshmallows, cut fine
1 cup walnuts, broken
1 cup dates, finely minced
1 cup cream

Steps:

  • Roll crackers to fine crumbs; reserve 1/2 cup and mix remaining crumbs with marshmallows, nuts and dates.
  • Add cream slowly until mixture is moist enough to hold together.
  • Shape into a roll about 2 1/2 inches in diameter; roll in reserved crumbs.
  • Wrap tightly in waxed paper and refrigerate at least 12 hours before serving.
  • Cut into 1/2" slices and serve with whipped cream.

These are so fun to make , use them like you would any other cracker but without all the preservatives in them.

1 c +2tbs all purpose flour
1 tsp sugar
1/2 tsp baking powder
1/2 tsp salt
1/4 c water
2 Tbsp canola oil
seasoning salt ; optional

Steps:

  • 1. In a medium mixing bowl combine flour , sugar and salt ; add oil and water.
  • 2. Stir until dough forms ball ; add more water if necessary ; Let the dough rest for 15 minutes.
  • 3. Divide the dough into 6 equal proportions ; Shape into balls ; Roll each ball on a lightly floured board or sheet of wax paper to form a 6" circle.
  • 4. Prick throughly with a fork ; Sprinkle with seasoned salt ; Repeat with the remaining dough.
  • 5. Lightly grease 3 cookie sheets and place two rounds per cookie sheet.
  • 6. Bake @ 450° for 7-9 minutes or until golden brown and crisp.

1 soft cracker bread, 15 inches in diameter (from 17-ounce package)
1 package (4 ounces) herb-and-garlic spreadable cheese
8 ounces thinly sliced smoked turkey
1 large tomato, thinly sliced
6 ounces thinly sliced Swiss cheese
18 leaves fresh spinach

Steps:

  • Cover bread evenly with spreadable cheese.
  • Layer turkey, tomato, Swiss cheese and spinach on bread, leaving about 4 inches at one side covered with spreadable cheese only.
  • Beginning at the side layered with turkey, roll up bread. Trim each end with serrated knife to make even; cut bread roll into 1-inch slices.
