SLOW-COOKER CHICKEN PARMESAN WITH PENNE PASTA
Warmly welcome your family home with the Italian aroma of chicken parmesan slow cooking in the kitchen.

Steps:
- Spray 2- to 3-quart slow cooker with cooking spray.
- In small shallow bowl, beat egg until foamy. In separate shallow bowl, mix bread crumbs, Parmesan cheese, Italian seasoning, salt and pepper. Dip chicken into egg, then coat evenly with bread crumb mixture; place in cooker. Spread pasta sauce evenly over chicken.
- Cover; cook on Low heat setting 5 to 6 hours.
- Sprinkle Italian cheese blend over top. Cover; cook on Low heat setting 10 minutes longer. Meanwhile, cook and drain pasta as directed on package. Serve chicken with pasta.

I adopted this recipe from the Recipezaar account as I am always on the look out for make ahead recipe and this one would be a great one for my "what to make with frozen meatballs" cookbook". This is the original introduction This is an adaption of Red Penne with Garden Veggie Meatballs recipe #52512 by --Kari*left*Denver--. I had it on the menu to make, but put it off and some of my ingredients went bad before I got the chance to make it, so, here's the version I came up with instead. I like to make up several batches of the cooked meatballs in the freezer to pull out for an easy meal." Thanks cbw

Steps:
- For Meatballs-Mix all meatball ingredients together, make into tsp size balls, and place on cookie sheet.
- Bake at 350F for 25 minutes or until cooked and drain.
- Put all sauce ingredients and meatballs in the crock pot and mix together.
- Cook on low for 4-5 hours or until noodles are tender.
- Enjoy!

- Mix all of the spaghetti sauce ingredients together in a large bowl. Add your browned/cooked ground beef or other meat to the sauce and mix well. Set aside.
- In another medium sized bowl, mix all of the Creamy Cheesy Mixture ingredients together-don't forget the salt and garlic powder! Set aside.
- In the bottom of your slow cooker, pour half of the spaghetti sauce with meat. Then take half of the box of pasta and add it to the spaghetti sauce in the slow cooker. Stir the uncooked pasta into the meaty sauce to make sure the noodles aren't clumped together in one spot.
- Take half of your creamy cheesy mixture and drop small amounts of the mixture all over the pasta and spaghetti sauce. Top with half of your shredded mozzarella cheese.

- NOTE: There is a range for water and pasta sauce. If you like something extremely saucy, use 2 jars. The water is ranged because slow cookers do cook differently. You may have to add the extra 1 cup of water. In what I made (pictured), I used 1 jar of sauce and 1 cup of water. Start out with that ratio. You can add additional sauce and/or water when cooking is almost finished.
- Brown ground beef, onion & mushrooms in a large skillet. Season with the salt, garlic powder and pepper. Drain any excess fat.
- Place can of diced tomatoes, including the juice, in the bottom of a 5-7 quart slow cooker. Place uncooked pasta on top of diced tomatoes.
- Top pasta with ground beef, grated cheese and grape tomatoes. Place cubed cream cheese on top of the meat/tomato layer. Add vodka (if using), 1 cup of water and 1 jar of the pasta sauce.
