SLOW COOKER SALISBURY STEAK WITH MUSHROOM GRAVY
Your taste buds called, they are tired of same old ground beef dinners. Impress them with an earthy taste of mushroom gravy and tender beef patties. So delicious, you can cut it with a fork.

- Combine the ground beef, diced onion, garlic, egg, bread crumbs, Worcestershire sauce, salt, and pepper in a bowl. Mix well but do not overwork the meat. Form the meat into oblong patties. Bring the water to a boil in a saucepan over high heat. Remove the boiling water from the heat and stir in the beef base. Carefully pour the mixture into the crock pot. Heat a non-stick skillet over medium-high heat. Place the hamburger patties in the skillet and cook, turning as needed, until browned on both sides. Transfer the patties to the crock pot, leaving any juices and drippings in the skillet. Add the sliced onion and mushrooms to the skillet and cook until just beginning to soften. Transfer them and any pan juices to the crock pot. Cover the crock pot and cook on high heat for 2-3 hours or until the salisbury steaks are cooked through. If desired, you can remove the salisbury steaks from the crock pot and thicken the juices with cornstarch for a thicker gravy.

- Trim fat from meat.
- Cut into serving sizes, if needed.
- In a large heavy skillet, brown beef on both sides in hot oil.
- Lightly spray the liner of a 4-quart crocker pot with cooking spray. ,.
- Spear one bay leaf with a toothpick (to be able to find and remove after cooking.
- Mix soup with spices and pepper.
- Meanwhile, place onion slices, green peas and mushrooms.in bottom of crock pot.
- Remove beef from skillet and place in crock pot on top of veggies.
- De-glaze pan with white wine,scrapping up meat bits.
- Add soup mixture to skillet and whisk to blend well; pour over meat in crock pot.
- Place speared bay leaf into mixture.
- Cover; cook on LOW setting for 8 hours.
- REMOVE bay leaf and toothpick.
- Serve over cooked noodles and sprinkle with parsley.

- In a medium bowl, combine the lean ground beef with plain bread crumbs, dry onion soup mix, large egg, and milk. Divide into eight portions and form your patties. Place patties on a baking dish or plate and season with salt and pepper, then dust with flour.
- Heat a large skillet or frying pan over medium heat, and melt butter. Add patties to the heated skillet or frying pan (seasoned side down) and season the upward facing side of your patties, then dust with flour. Brown both sides of the patties and remove from heat.
- In your slow cooker, combine the can of condensed cream of chicken soup, worcestershire sauce, au jus gravy mix, and beef broth, Whisk all of the sauce ingredients together until smooth.
- Place the browned patties into your slow cooker (about two layers) so that they are covered with the sauce. Add sliced mushrooms and chopped parsley.
- Cook in your slow cooker on high for two hours or on the low setting for four hours (or until well done).

- Preheat the slow cooker while you prepare the rest of the ingredients.
- Spread half the onions and mushrooms on the bottom of a slow cooker, followed by the steaks. Sprinkle the steaks with the onion soup mix, flipping them over to coat both sides with the seasoning.
- Spread the remaining onions and mushrooms on top, then pour in the beef broth.
- Cover and cook on low for 8 hours. Remove about 1/4 cup of the juices from the crock pot. Whisk in the cornstarch to form a slurry.
