Dash of freshly ground black pepper
1 tablespoon olive oil
1 medium onion (chopped, about 1 cup)
1/2 cup diced celery
1/2 cup diced carrots
2 (10 1/4-ounce)​ cans condensed cream of chicken soup
1 1/4 cup (1 soup can) water

Steps:

  • Cut off and discard the wing tips.
  • Heat the oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
  • In a measuring cup, combine the cream of chicken soup with the water.

My friend always makes smothered turkey wings and I'd always get to his house too late to get any. I searched for a recipe and couldn't find one, so I created my own. Enjoy!

6 turkey wings (whole or drummettes)
3 medium carrots, cut up
3 stalks celery, cut up
1 medium onion, cut up
3 bay leaves
3 garlic cloves
2 (7/8 ounce) packets turkey gravy mix (powdered)
1/2 cup water

Steps:

  • Season turkey wings the night before with the seasoning of your choice. I use a mixture of salt, pepper, garlic powder and onion powder. Refrigerate until morning.
  • Arrange cut up vegetables, bay leaves and garlic in bottom of a slow cooker.
  • Sprinkle 1 packet of turkey gravy mix on top of vegetables and stir to coat.
  • Pour 1/2 cup water over vegetables.
  • Place turkey wings on top of vegetables and sprinkle remaining turkey gravy powder over turkey wings.
  • Cook the turkey wings in the slow cooker on low before leaving for work in the morning and when you return home in the evening your turkey wings will be tender and simmering in their own rich gravy.
  • This is great served over hot white rice.

1-1/4 cups barbecue sauce
2 green onions, sliced
1 teaspoon paprika
1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon pepper
1/4 teaspoon soy sauce

Steps:

  • Cut turkey wings into sections; discard wing tips. In a large shallow dish, combine remaining ingredients; add wing sections. Turn to coat; refrigerate, covered, 6-8 hours or overnight., Preheat oven to 350°. Drain and discard marinade from wings. Place wings in a greased 15x10x1-in. baking pan. Bake, uncovered, 50-60 minutes or until a thermometer reads 170° and turkey is tender.

3 turkey wings
1 (10.75 ounce) can cream of mushroom soup
2 teaspoons salt
1 teaspoon ground black pepper
1 teaspoon garlic powder
1 teaspoon seasoned salt
water, or as needed to cover
1 (10 ounce) package saffron rice (such as Mahatma®)

Steps:

  • Place turkey wings, cream of mushroom soup, salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and seasoned salt into a 6-quart slow cooker. Pour in enough water to cover; stir ingredients. Cook on High for 6 hours or on Low for 8 hours.
  • Stir rice into mixture; continue to cook until rice is tender, 15 to 20 more minutes.

4 turkey wings
10 ounces pineapple salsa (you can use up to 16 oz) or 10 ounces mango salsa (you can use up to 16 oz)
1 red bell pepper, sliced in thick julienne
1 yellow bell pepper, sliced in thick julienne
4 -6 ounces chicken broth
1 (1 1/2 ounce) envelope dry onion soup mix (I use Knorr French Onion)
1 1/2 cups baby carrots
12 small pattypan squash, left whole (optional)
1/2 cup fresh parsley, chopped
2 tablespoons fresh cilantro leaves
1/4 teaspoon pepper
1 -2 teaspoon sriracha sauce (optional)

Steps:

  • Cut tips off wings.
  • Place wings in crock pot.
  • Pour salsa over wings.
  • Place bell peppers over salsa.
  • Arrange carrots, squash and parsley over and around wings.
  • Sprinkle dry onion soup packet contents over all.
  • Mix hot sauce (if using) with broth and pour over all.
  • Arrange whole cilantro over top & sprinkle pepper over all.
  • Cook on low for 6-7 hours or on high for 3-4 hours.

  • Using paper towels, pat the turkey wings dry and season generously with salt and pepper. In an extra-large skillet, heat 1 tablespoon of the oil until shimmering. Add half of the turkey wings to the skillet and cook over moderately high heat until browned all over, about 7 minutes. Using tongs, transfer the browned turkey wings to a 6-quart slow cooker. Repeat with the remaining wings and oil. Add the wine to the skillet and cook over moderately high heat for 1 minute; scrape up any browned bits with a wooden spoon, then pour the wine over the wings.
  • In a medium bowl, whisk the soy sauce with the brown sugar and sesame oil. Pour the soy sauce mixture over the wings. Add the trimmed scallions, garlic, ginger, cinnamon stick, star anise and crushed red pepper flakes to the slow cooker, then cover and cook on high for 3 1/2 to 4 hours (or about 7 hours on low), until the wings are very tender but not falling apart.
  • Preheat the broiler. Place an oven-safe wire rack over a rimmed baking sheet lined with aluminum foil. Using tongs, arrange the turkey wings on the wire rack in a single layer. Strain the cooking liquid into a liquid measuring cup and skim off the fat. (You will have about 1 1/2 cups of cooking liquid.)
  • Lightly brush the wings with 1 tablespoon of the cooking liquid and broil the wings 4 to 6 inches from the heat for about 8 minutes, rotating the baking sheet front to back once about halfway through, until the wings are deep brown and beginning to crisp.
