CROCK POT APPLE CRISP DESSERT

Crock Pot Apple Crisp Dessert image

I love using my crock pot and this smells wonderful while its cooking! I like to make this in the Fall when apples are at their best! This is very easy to make and very satisfying!

Provided by Little Bee

Categories     Dessert

Time 3h15m

Yield 6 serving(s)

Number Of Ingredients 7

6 medium cooking apples, peeled, cored, sliced (I like Granny Smith)
1 1/2 cups flour
1 cup packed brown sugar
1 tablespoon cinnamon
1/2 teaspoon nutmeg
1/4 teaspoon ginger
3/4 cup butter or 3/4 cup margarine, softened

Steps:

  • Generously spray a crock pot with non stick cooking spray, line with apples.
  • Mix together flour, sugar, spices and margarine in a bowl.
  • Cover the apples with this mixture.
  • (Pack it on top.) Cook on high for 3-4 hours.
  • Scoop out a portion and serve with any or all of the optional toppings: Vanilla ice cream, Whipped cream or whipped topping, if desired.
  • * I use a medium size crock pot to make this. Using a large crock pot will probably not work well as the ingredients will be too spread out and may burn around the edges.

EASY CROCK POT APPLE DESSERT

Easy Crock Pot Apple Dessert image

I made this for a potluck at work and everyone asked for a copy of the recipe! Delicious with French vanilla ice cream. Can also vary fruit fillings and cake flavors as desired. I use a 5 qt. Rival crock pot. Others who have tried this recipe and used older and deeper crock pots needed to adjust cooking times.

Time 3h7m

Yield 10 serving(s)

Number Of Ingredients 5

2 (21 ounce) cans apple pie filling (I use no sugar added pie filling as the sugar from the cake mix makes this dessert VERY sweet)
1/2-1 teaspoon cinnamon
1 (8 1/2 ounce) package yellow cake mix
1/2 cup butter, melted
1/3 cup walnuts (optional)

Steps:

  • Place pie filling in slow cooker.
  • Sprinkle cinnamon over apples.
  • Combine dry cake mix and butter in a separate bowl (will be crumbly) and drop spoonfuls over filling.
  • Sprinkle with 1/3 cup chopped walnuts if you desire.
  • Cover and cook on low for 3-3/2 hours.

MINI SLOW COOKER APPLE CRISP

Mini Slow Cooker Apple Crisp image

This recipe is for a 2 quart slow cooker. If you have a larger one, double the recipe but NOT the cooking time. As with many slow cooker recipes, the method contributes to the success of the recipe. Make sure the apples are in large chunks as directed, or they will get too soft. Also, keep an eye on the edges, they tend to burn if left to cook too long. I use this while camping in our little RV trailer, and it smells delicious. I can start it right before I start dinner, and it will be ready by the time we finish dinner and are ready for dessert later. Ice cream is great on it, but I also like sour cream or yogurt, which are easier to carry when camping.
