2.50 lbs Baby back ribs, or 1 rack pork ribs
1 Large onion, peeled and diced
2 Large garlic cloves, chopped
0.67 cup Dale's Seasoning
1 cup Ketchup
6 tbsp Brown sugar

Steps:

  • To begin making Baby Back Ribe with Dale's. preheat oven to 400 degrees.
  • Then, cut rack of ribs in half and place in a large saucepan.
  • Add enough water to cover ribs and bring to a full boil over medium-high heat.
  • Remove from heat and allow to stand for 15 minutes.
  • Coat a medium skillet with non-stick cooking spray and place over medium heat.
  • Sauté onions and garlic for 2-3 minutes.
  • Add Dale's Seasoning, ketchup and sugar and cook for 5 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  • Remove ribs from water.
  • Cut ribs apart between bones and place in a shallow baking dish.
  • Add ½ cup of the water from saucepan to sauce and stir well.
  • Discard remaining water.
  • Pour sauce over ribs, coating both sides.
  • Bake, uncovered, for 50-60 minutes, or until ribs are tender, basting occasionally.

These ribs have the rich flavor of pork, which you can really taste, and they are also very tender and moist. Who needs all that BBQ sauce? If you can, get baby back ribs - they're best - but any pork spareribs will do.

4 pounds meaty pork spareribs
2 tablespoons salt
1 tablespoon freshly ground black pepper

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 350°F.
  • Preparing and Roasting the Ribs
  • Rub the ribs with salt and pepper on both sides.
  • Set a roasting or broiler rack in a roasting pan. Arrange the ribs on the rack, meaty side facing up.
  • Put the pan on the center rack of the oven and bake for 30 minutes. Using a pair of tongs, turn the ribs over, and cook for another 30 minutes.
  • When the second 30 minutes are up, the ribs should be nicely browned and fairly crisp on the outside. If not, roast for another 10 minutes and check again.
  • Cutting and Serving the Ribs
  • When you are serving the ribs, cut the rack into separate racks of 3 or 4 ribs per person and place on a platter or plates. Serve hot.

4 pounds pork spareribs, cut into serving-size pieces
1 medium onion, quartered
2 teaspoons salt
1/4 teaspoon pepper
SAUCE:
1/2 cup packed brown sugar
1/2 cup cider vinegar
1/2 cup ketchup
1/4 cup Worcestershire sauce
1/4 cup chili sauce
2 tablespoons chopped onion
1 tablespoon lemon juice
1/2 teaspoon ground mustard
1 garlic clove, minced
Dash cayenne pepper

Steps:

  • In a Dutch oven, place ribs and onion; sprinkle with salt and pepper. Add enough water to cover ribs; bring to a boil. Reduce heat; cover and simmer for 1-1/2 hours or until meat is tender; drain. , Meanwhile, in a small saucepan, combine sauce ingredients. Simmer, uncovered, for 1 hour or until slightly thickened, stirring occasionally. , Arrange ribs on a rack in a broiler pan. Brush with sauce. Broil 5 in. from the heat for 5 minutes on each side, brushing frequently with sauce.

My friend Dale was a big eater, as was her construction-worker husband. She made this recipe just for the 2 of them, and would double it if having another couple over for dinner (she gave me this recipe after I had it at her house, back in, I think, 1977). I have indicated "two servings", but I think maybe it can be stretched a little more :-) She always served it with mashed potatoes and cole slaw.

3 1/2 lbs side ribs
1 cup ketchup
1/2 cup water
1/4 cup white vinegar
2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
2 tablespoons freshly squeezed lemon juice
2 tablespoons brown sugar
2 teaspoons celery seeds

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 300 F and place ribs in a small roaster; set aside.
  • Combine all other ingredients together in a saucepan and simmer until mixture thickens.
  • Pour sauce over ribs and bake until ribs are very tender; at least 3 hours.
  • She never told me to baste them, but I check them about once per hour and do baste them a bit with the sauce.
  • According to my friend Dale,"serves 2 hearty eaters".

Everyone loves a good rack of pork ribs, and these smoked spare ribs are fantastic. This smoked spare ribs recipe creates a moist, flavorful rib, that comes off the bone easily with every bite.

2 racks of Pork Spare Ribs
4 tbsp of bbq rub
1/2 Cup Barbecue Sauce
1/2 Cup Ketchup
1/4 Cup Apple Cider Vinegar
1/2 Cup Brown Sugar

Steps:

  • Remove the silverskin from the underside of your ribs and then season both sides with bbq rub. Let the ribs sit for 30 minutes and then dust with the rub again. Setup your smoker to smoke using indirect heat at 250 degrees. Smoke the ribs at 250 for approximately six and a half hours. After 90 minutes of smoke spritz the ribs with a 50/50 combo of apple juice and apple cider vinegar every 45 minutes until the 4 hour mark. At the 4 hour mark start mopping the ribs with your mop sauce every 45 minutes. The ribs are done when the internal temp of the ribs hits 190-200 degrees or they pass the bend test. Typically takes about 6 hours, but it's different for every rack of ribs.

1/3 cup Worcestershire sauce (lea & perrins)
2 tablespoons sugar

1 dash ground pepper

Steps:

  • Using a 1 quart container Whisk all ingredients together until well blended. Seal well and all should last refrigerated 1-2 months.
