This is a recipe I have worked on for a while and I think it is just about right. It goes well with just about anything from fried fish to hamburgers, and is to die for on a pulled pork sandwich. If you are going to use it with Q, reduce the amount of dressing you add to the cabbage so it's not too sloppy. For best results refrigerate over night to allow flavors to marry.

Ingredients

1 head cabbage, cored and coarsely chopped
1 carrot, grated
1 sweet onion, minced
3 green onions, minced
1 dill pickle, minced
1 cup mayonnaise
2 cups buttermilk
2 tablespoons dill pickle juice
2 tablespoons vinegar
2 tablespoons prepared yellow mustard
½ cup white sugar
1 pinch cayenne pepper
1 teaspoon salt, divided
1 clove garlic

Steps:

In a large bowl, mix the cabbage, carrot, sweet onion, green onions, and dill pickle.
In a separate bowl, whisk together the mayonnaise, buttermilk, dill pickle juice, vinegar, mustard, sugar, cayenne pepper, and 3/4 teaspoon salt. Mash together the remaining salt and garlic, and whisk into the dressing. Drizzle dressing over the slaw, and toss to coat. Cover and refrigerate 8 hours, or overnight, before serving.

My Dad created this very "Special" beverage for the children in our family who all love and ask for it when ever they visit. It's made with Wink or generic grapefruit soda, OJ, and maraschino cherry juice over ice, topped off with a cherry. You could frappe the drink if you want. He also serves them in tall glasses. *Note: Cooking time is None.

Ingredients

1 cup ice (crushed)
1/2 cup grapefruit soda (or Wink, Do Not Substitute with any other soda)
1/2 cup orange juice
3 tablespoons maraschino cherry juice
1 -2 maraschino cherry

Steps:

Add ice to glass.
Pour Wink and orange juice in glass and stir to mix.
Add maraschino cherry juice and top with cherry. Enjoy!
