These bars offer the best of both worlds, cookie-wise: The edges are crisp and browned if you like crust, but the center cuts are extra gooey and rich.

1 cup (2 sticks) unsalted butter
1 1/2 cups firmly packed dark brown sugar
2 large eggs
1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
2 cups all-purpose flour (see Cook¿s Note)
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
1 teaspoon fine salt
One 12-ounce bag (a scant 2 cups) semisweet chocolate chips

Steps:

  • Position the rack in the middle of the oven and preheat to 350 degrees F.
  • Put the butter in a microwave-safe bowl, cover and microwave on medium power until melted. Alternatively melt the butter in a small saucepan. Brush some butter on the inside of a 9-by-13-inch pan and cool the remaining butter slightly. Whisk the remaining cooled butter, brown sugar, eggs and vanilla in a large bowl until smooth.
  • Whisk the flour, baking soda and salt in another bowl. Stir the dry ingredients into the wet ingredients with a spoon or spatula, taking care not to over mix. The batter should be thick and all of the flour mixture should be fully incorporated. Fold in the chocolate chips.
  • Spread the batter evenly in the prepared pan. Bake until the edges are browned and the center is completely set, about 30 minutes. Cool completely, at least one hour, cut into 24 pieces and serve.

1 ¼ cups dark brown sugar
¼ cup white sugar
1 egg
1 ½ teaspoons vanilla extract
2 cups all-purpose flour
2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon baking soda
½ teaspoon salt
2 ½ cups semisweet chocolate chips, divided

Steps:

  • Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).
  • Beat butter in a large bowl using an electric mixer until smooth. Add brown sugar and white sugar; mix until well blended. Add egg and vanilla extract and beat until smooth.
  • Toss 2 cups plus 2 tablespoon flour, baking soda, and salt together using a fork in a small bowl. Add to the butter mixture in batches, mixing well after each addition. Fold in 1 3/4 cups chocolate chips. Spread batter into an ungreased 9x13-inch baking pan.
  • Bake in the preheated oven until edges are golden, about 25 minutes. Spread remaining 3/4 cup chocolate chips on top. Return to the oven until chocolate chips are shiny, about 1 minute more. Remove from oven and spread melted chocolate over the top.

1 3/4 cups flour
3/4 cup confectioners' sugar
1/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder (Baking)
1 cup butter (cold) or 1 cup margarine (cold)
2 (12 ounce) bags semi-sweet chocolate chips
1 (14 ounce) can sweetened condensed milk (chocolate is best but regular white will do)
3/4 cup nuts, chopped (I use Pecans,use what you like)
1 teaspoon vanilla
1 (12 ounce) bag milk chocolate chips

Steps:

  • CRUST:.
  • Combine Flour,Sugar,Cocoa,and Butter. Use two knives or pastry blender.(pastry blender works best.) Mixture will be crumbley. Press firmly into a 13x9 pan. Bake at 350 for 15 minutes.
  • FILLING:.
  • In saucepan combine both pkgs of semi-sweet Choc Chips,Vanilla, Milk,and Nuts if using. Stir until well melted. Pour over prepared crust.
  • TOPPING:.

1 1/4 cups plain flour
1/3 cup brown sugar
1/3 cup caster sugar

  • Place lined metal tray into 190c oven for 10 min.
  • Melt butter in microwave. Allow to cooland add egg - lightly whisk.
  • Combine dry ingredients,and mix well.

  • Remove tray from oven, and quickly place tablespoon size blobs of dough on sheet.

½ cup granulated sugar
¾ cup brown sugar
1 teaspoon kosher salt
8 tablespoons unsalted butter, softened
1 large egg
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 ¼ cups all-purpose flour
½ teaspoon baking soda
2 cups chocolate chips
melted chocolate, for dipping
milk, for serving

Steps:

  • In a large bowl, whisk together the sugars, salt, and butter until a paste forms with no lumps.
  • Whisk in the egg and vanilla, beating until light ribbons fall off the whisk and remain for a short while before dissolving back into the mixture.
  • Sift in the flour and baking soda, then fold with a spatula to combine. (Be careful not to overmix, as the gluten in the flour to toughen resulting in cakier cookies.)
  • Fold in the chocolate chips.
  • Chill the dough for at least 30 minutes or, for a more intense, toffee-like flavor and deeper color, chill overnight. The longer the dough rests, the more complex its flavor will be.
  • Preheat the oven to 350°F (180°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  • Scoop the dough with an ice-cream scoop onto the prepared baking sheet, leaving at least 4 inches (10 centimeters) of space between cookies and 2 inches (5 centimeters) of space from the edges of the pan so that the cookies can spread evenly.
  • Bake for 12-15 minutes, or until the edges have started to barely brown.
  • Let the cookies cool completely, then dunk in the melted chocolate. Let chocolate set for about 30 minutes.
  • Serve with a glass of milk.
