DECADENT CHOCOLATE CHIP BAR COOKIES

Steps:

• Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).
• Beat butter in a large bowl using an electric mixer until smooth. Add brown sugar and white sugar; mix until well blended. Add egg and vanilla extract and beat until smooth.
• Toss 2 cups plus 2 tablespoon flour, baking soda, and salt together using a fork in a small bowl. Add to the butter mixture in batches, mixing well after each addition. Fold in 1 3/4 cups chocolate chips. Spread batter into an ungreased 9x13-inch baking pan.
• Bake in the preheated oven until edges are golden, about 25 minutes. Spread remaining 3/4 cup chocolate chips on top. Return to the oven until chocolate chips are shiny, about 1 minute more. Remove from oven and spread melted chocolate over the top.

Steps:

• Preheat oven to 375°.
• In a large bowl stir all ingredients together until well blended.
• Drop in rounded teaspoons onto an ungreased cookie sheet.
• Bake for 10-12 minutes until center of cookie is golden brown.
• Cool on cookie sheet for 1 minute.
• Remove to rack to cool.

Steps:

• In a mixing bowl, cream butter and sugar.
• beat in egg and vanilla.
• Combine the flour, baking powder and salt; gradually add to creamed mixture and mix well.
• Divide dough into four portions; shape each into a 10 inch X 21/2 inch log.
• Place 4 inches apart on greased or foil lined baking sheets.
• Make a 1/2 inch depression down center of each log.
• Bake at 350 for 10 minutes.
• Fill depressions with jam.
• Bake 10-15 minutes longer or until lightly browned.
• Cool for 2 minutes.
• Remove to a cutting board; cut into 3/4 inch slices.
• Place on wire racks.
• In a small bowl, combine glaze ingredients until smooth; drizzle over warm cookies.
• Cool completely.

Steps:

• In a large bowl, whisk together the sugars, salt, and butter until a paste forms with no lumps.
• Whisk in the egg and vanilla, beating until light ribbons fall off the whisk and remain for a short while before dissolving back into the mixture.
• Sift in the flour and baking soda, then fold with a spatula to combine. (Be careful not to overmix, as the gluten in the flour to toughen resulting in cakier cookies.)
• Fold in the chocolate chips.
• Chill the dough for at least 30 minutes or, for a more intense, toffee-like flavor and deeper color, chill overnight. The longer the dough rests, the more complex its flavor will be.
• Preheat the oven to 350°F (180°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
• Scoop the dough with an ice-cream scoop onto the prepared baking sheet, leaving at least 4 inches (10 centimeters) of space between cookies and 2 inches (5 centimeters) of space from the edges of the pan so that the cookies can spread evenly.
• Bake for 12-15 minutes, or until the edges have started to barely brown.
• Let the cookies cool completely, then dunk in the melted chocolate. Let chocolate set for about 30 minutes.
