Provided by amyfewell

Number Of Ingredients 10

20 cloves garlic, peeled and smashed (or 1 oz garlic extract or garlic juice)
45 drops eucalyptus essential oil
30 drops lavender essential oil
30 drops peppermint essential oil
20 drops cinnamon bark essential oil
20 drops melissa essential oil
15 drops tea tree essential oil
2 tbsp White Vinegar, unless using garlic extract
Water
16 oz glass spray bottle

Steps:

  • In a 16 oz. glass spray bottle, combine garlic (or extract) and essential oils. If using smashed garlic, allow it to sit for several hours before using the spray (overnight is even better).
  • If using garlic extract, do not use white vinegar. Simply fill the rest of the bottle up with water 3/4 of the way full. However, if using smashed garlic, add vinegar at this point.
  • Shake the bottle well before each spray. Store in a temperature controlled area, like a pantry or medicine cabinet. Dispose after six months.

  • Line Up Your Supplies. When it’s time to deep clean our homes, we pull out our cleaning sprays; grab the vacuum, mop and duster; and battle dust bunnies.
  • Assess the Situation. Before you start your deep clean, you’re going to want to know what you’re up against. This is the best time to take a look at all sides of your nesting boxes, check your roosts and walls for signs of mites, and examine your droppings board for signs of illness.
  • Muck out Manure. One of the best ways to tackle a deep clean is to start with your droppings. The most efficient way to catch all the debris you’ll remove is to line up plastic sheeting on the ground at the base of your chicken coop.
  • Rake Out Litter. With your droppings on the bottom of the coop or outside on your plastic, you can now. rake out your entire coop. If you use the deep-litter method, you’ll be pulling out a heavy pile of manure and litter.
  • Seal It Up. With all litter removed, this is a good time to check for any holes made from rodents or predators. You can patch them with wood pieces or stuff them with steel wool.
