DEEP-DISH LAYERED BANANA PUDDING
As if banana pudding weren't luscious enough on its own, we've gilded the dessert lily and layered it with vanilla wafers and a sweet pecan topping.

Steps:
- Heat oven to 350ºF.
- Crush 30 wafers; mix with next 4 ingredients. Spread onto bottom of rimmed baking sheet sprayed with cooking spray. Bake 8 to 10 min. or until golden brown, stirring after 5 min. Cool.
- Beat pudding mixes and milk in medium bowl with whisk 2 min. (Pudding will be thick.) Stir in 1 cup COOL WHIP.
- Layer 1/3 of the crumb mixture and half each of the bananas and pudding in 2-qt. bowl; repeat layers.
- Beat cream cheese and granulated sugar in medium bowl with mixer until blended. Gently stir in 1 cup of the remaining COOL WHIP; spread over top of dessert, sealing to edge of bowl. Sprinkle with remaining crumb mixture. Refrigerate 3 hours.
- Serve topped with remaining COOL WHIP and whole wafers.

Steps:
- Whisk together the sugar, cornstarch and salt in a large saucepan; whisk in the milk until smooth. Heat over medium-high heat, whisking, until bubbles begin to form. Remove from the heat.
- Whisk the egg in a medium bowl. Slowly pour 1/4 cup of the hot milk mixture into the egg while whisking vigorously; whisk until smooth. Pour the mixture back into the saucepan and cook over medium-high heat, whisking vigorously, until thick and starting to bubble, 1 to 2 minutes. Transfer the mixture to a bowl, whisk in the sour cream and vanilla and let cool until thick, whisking frequently.
- Cut the bananas into thin slices. Layer a few banana slices, a few wafer pieces and 2 tablespoons of the prepared pudding in each of 4 glasses; repeat the layering once and then top with a final layer of pudding. Serve immediately or cover and refrigerate for up to 4 hours.

- In a large saucepan, combine the flour and brown sugar. Stir in milk until smooth. Cook and stir over medium-high heat until thickened and bubbly. Reduce heat; cook and stir 2 minutes longer. Remove from the heat. , Stir a small amount of hot filling into egg yolks; return all to pan, stirring constantly. Bring to a gentle boil; cook and stir 2 minutes longer. Remove from the heat; stir in butter and vanilla. Cool to room temperature without stirring. Fold in the whipped cream. , Layer a third of the pudding in a 2-qt. glass bowl; top with half of the bananas. Repeat layers. Top with remaining pudding. Sprinkle with nuts if desired. - Whisk milk and eggs together in a bowl.
