HOT MILK CAKE
This simple, old-fashioned milk cake tastes so good it will surprise you! As I remember my mom's delicious meals, this dessert was always the perfect ending. Mom always used "a dash of this and dab of that" to come up with what we thought was "the best"! -Rosemary Pryor, Pasadena, Maryland

Steps:
- Preheat oven to 350°. In a large bowl, beat eggs on high speed for 5 minutes or until thick and lemon-colored. Gradually add sugar, beating until mixture is light and fluffy. Beat in vanilla. Combine flour and baking powder; gradually add to batter beating on low speed until smooth. , In a small saucepan, heat milk and butter just until butter is melted. Gradually add to batter; beat just until combined. , Pour into a greased 13x9-in. baking pan. Bake until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean, 30-35 minutes. Cool on a wire rack.

My mother also made this recipe in a long loaf pan which I don't believe they make any more. Fortunately, I have her pan and whenever I make this it sure brings back such happy memories. Originally submitted to ThanksgivingRecipe.com.

Steps:
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Grease one large loaf pan or one 10 inch tube pan.
- In a saucepan over medium-low heat, combine the milk and the butter. Do not boil.
- In a large bowl beat the eggs until light colored. Gradually add the sugar to the eggs then stir in the flour and baking powder. Stir in the hot milk and butter. Beat only until combined. Stir in the vanilla. Pour the batter into the prepared pan.
- Bake at 350 degrees F (175 degrees C) for 45 to 50 minutes. Let cake cool in pan for 10 minutes. Remove cake from the pan and cool on a wire rack.
