16 oz. cream cheese (softened)
8 oz. Cool Whip
1 box instant vanilla pudding (3.9 oz)
3 cups milk
1 1/2 packages Oreos
1 small package gummy worms

Steps:

  • Place cream cheese in a mixing bowl, add instant pudding mix and milk then blend with a hand mixer until smooth. Stir in Cool Whip and place dirt mixture in fridge until ready to assemble.
  • Place Oreos into a plastic bag and lightly roll with a rolling pin until the cookies crumble and you can't see the white cream anymore and it begins to actually look like dirt.
  • Assemble in layers. Oreo "dirt" crumbles on the very bottom, then cream cheese mixture, alternating until the last layer of Oreos is on top.
  • Refrigerate until served. Add worms or other decorations to your dirt dessert right before serving!

1 package (8 ounces) cream cheese, softened
1/4 cup butter, softened
1 cup confectioners' sugar
3-1/3 cups cold whole milk
2 packages (3.4 ounces each) instant French vanilla pudding mix
1 carton (8 ounces) frozen whipped topping, thawed

Steps:

  • In a food processor or blender, process the cookies until finely crushed. Set aside 2 tablespoons of crumbs for topping., In a large bowl, beat cream cheese, butter and sugar. In a bowl, whisk the milk and pudding mix for 2 minutes. Add to cream cheese mixture; mix well. Fold in whipped topping., Place half of the cookie crumbs in 2-1/2-qt. container or bowl; top with half of the pudding mixture. Repeat layers. Sprinkle with reserved crumbs. Refrigerate until serving.

3 cups milk
1 cup confectioners' sugar
1 (8 ounce) package cream cheese, softened
¼ cup butter, softened
1 (12 ounce) container frozen whipped topping, thawed
1 (14 ounce) package chocolate cream-filled sandwich cookies, crushed (divided)

Steps:

  • Whisk French vanilla pudding mix with milk in a large bowl until softly set, about 2 minutes. Pudding will thicken as it stands. Cream confectioners' sugar, cream cheese, and butter in a separate bowl until smooth and creamy. Stir cream cheese mixture into pudding until thoroughly combined; gently fold frozen whipped topping into the mixture.
  • Place half the cookie crumbs into the bottom of an 9x12-inch dish; retain remaining crumbs for topping. Spread the filling over the layer of cookie crumbs and top with remaining crumbs, covering completely. Chill for at least 30 minutes.

1 box Duncan Hines or Betty Crocker chocolate cake
1 box (8 servings) or 2 boxes (4 serving) Jell-O Chocolate Flavor Sugar Free Instant Pudding
4 cups milk
2 tubs (8 oz. each) Cool Whip or Chocolate Cool Whip, or French Vanilla Cool Whip
1 pkg Oreo Cookies
Gummy worms (optional)

Steps:

  • 1. Prepare cake as directed on the box but bake in a grease 9 x 13 pan and completely cool in pan. When cooled, cut into bite sized pieces.
  • 2. Make the pudding as directed on the box. Let stand 10 min to firm up a little.
  • 3. After 10 minutes dump both containers of Cool Whip into the pudding and whisk in 'til no Cool Whip is showing through the pudding.
  • 4. Crush the Oreo Cookies very fine in a food processer or in a zip top bag by hand using a rolling pin.
  • 5. Now you're ready to put it all together: Put some of the cake bites in the bottom of the trifle dish. Next cover it with some of the pudding mixture. Then top it off with some the crushed Oreo Cookies. Repeat with cake, then pudding mixture, then the crushed Oreo Cookies. Repeat again and again 'til you end up the last layer of the pudding mixture and the top with the last layer of crushed Oreo Cookies. Serve it up now or refrigerate 'til ready to serve. Garnish with the gummy worms {optional} on top of the trifle.

I make trifles all the time for large gatherings like my DD soccer team parties. The kids (and adults)always gobble it down. There's so many variations but this is a fun way to welcome in the Spring season or for an April's Fool Dessert.

1 (18 1/4 ounce) package duncan hines moist deluxe devil's food cake mix (Bake according to package directions)
3 eggs (or whatever the package calls for)
1/3 cup oil (or whatever the package calls for)
1/3 cup water (or whatever the package calls for)
4 (3 1/8 ounce) packages instant chocolate pudding mix
8 cups milk (for pudding)
1 (16 ounce) container Cool Whip (defrosted)
1 (8 ounce) package gummy worms (for topping)

Steps:

  • Bake cake mix according to directions on box for 9x13 pan and cool.
  • I use a huge bowl so I do 2 sets of layers.
  • Layer 1 Once the cake is cooled cut into squares (makes it easier to crumble) and start to crumble it for you first layer. Note: Only for this first layer of cake, press into the bottom of the bowl.
  • Layer 2 Mix chocolate pudding according to package directions (don't let it set because it can just be poured over the cake layer easier).
  • Layer 3 Cool Whip (spread on with spatula to cover pudding).
  • Repeat layer process one more time. Then top it with an extra layer of dirt( crumbled cake) for the gummy worms to sit on.
  • Refrigerate for at least 1 hour.
  • Top with Gummy Worms just before serving.
  • You can also make these in little individual cups for a kid party. Just do 1 layer of each and 1 extra layer of dirt (cake) Top with 1 or 2 gummy worms.
  • Note: Prep and Cooking Time do not include cooling time for cake or setting time in the refrigerator.

2 (8 ounce) packages cream cheese, softened
2 ½ cups milk, divided
2 (3.5 ounce) packages instant banana pudding mix
5 small bananas, sliced, or more to taste
1 (12 ounce) container frozen whipped topping, thawed, divided
½ (12 ounce) package vanilla wafers, slightly broken
1 ½ cups coffee-flavored liqueur (such as Kahlua®), or to taste
2 (3.5 ounce) packages instant chocolate pudding mix
1 individual package chocolate graham crackers, broken
1 (8 ounce) container frozen whipped topping, thawed

Steps:

  • Divide sweetened condensed milk and cream cheese between 2 bowls. Blend each mixture until combined.
  • Add 2 cups milk and both banana pudding mixes to one bowl; stir until thickened. Fold in 1/2 of the sliced bananas, 1/2 of the 12-ounce container of whipped topping, and 1/2 of the wafers.
  • Add remaining 1/2 cup milk and coffee liqueur to the second bowl. Stir in chocolate pudding mixes until thickened. Fold in remaining 6 ounces whipped topping and graham crackers.
  • Spread the coffee-chocolate pudding over the bottom of a glass trifle bowl. Layer on 1/2 of the 8-ounce container of whipped topping. Add banana pudding. Top with remaining whipped topping. Refrigerate, 8 hours to overnight.

This Easy Dirt Cake Recipe (Oreo Dirt Pudding) is one of our favorite no-bake desserts! Crushed Oreos are layered between a french vanilla pudding mixture for a kid-friendly, make-ahead dessert recipe perfect for any potluck or BBQ! Add gummy worms for a whimsical touch!

3½ cups whole milk
2 (3.4 oz) packages Jello instant French vanilla pudding
1 package Oreo cookies (divided)
½ cup butter (room temperature)
8 oz cream cheese (room temperature)
1 cup powdered sugar
8 oz cool whip (thawed in the refrigerator)
Gummy worms (optional)

Steps:

  • Remove 8 Oreos from the package and place on a cutting board.
  • Cut the cookies into small, ¼" pieces, set aside.
  • Put the remaining Oreos into the container of a food processor fit with an "S" blade.
  • Process until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs. You may need to pause, break apart cookies that get stuck to the blades, and continue processing.
  • If you don't have a food processor, you can crush the Oreos with a rolling pin.
  • Set aside.
  • In a medium bowl, whisk together milk and pudding. Set aside in the refrigerator to solidify.
  • In the bowl of your standing mixer or with a hand-held mixer in a large bowl, cream together butter and cream cheese. Beat until well combined & smooth (about 30-60 seconds).
  • Add powdered sugar and beat until smooth.
  • Add pudding to the butter/cream cheese mixture (make sure it has set before adding), and beat on low speed to combined.
  • Fold in cool whip until the mixture is homogenous (uniform throughout).
  • Layer the pudding mixture and cookies. Start by pouring 2 cups of pudding mixture into the bottom of a trifle dish and spread it until level.
  • Sprinkle ½ cup cookie crumbs and ¼ cup chopped cookies evenly over the pudding.
  • Repeat using 2 cups of pudding, ½ cup cookie crumbs and ¼ cup chopped cookies for each layer.
  • Add gummy worms to each layer as desired, or only add some to the top.
  • Be sure the final layer is cookie crumbs!
  • Refrigerate overnight before serving.
