1/2 cup butter, melted
3 to 4 garlic cloves, minced
1 loaf (1 pound) French bread, halved lengthwise
2 tablespoons minced fresh parsley

Steps:

  • In a small bowl, combine butter and garlic. Brush over cut sides of bread; sprinkle with parsley. Place, cut side up, on a baking sheet., Bake at 350° for 8 minutes. Broil 4-6 in. from the heat for 2 minutes or until golden brown. Serve warm.

4 large potatoes, peeled and diced
1 (10 fluid ounce) bottle Worcestershire sauce
salt and pepper to taste

Steps:

  • Brown beef and onion in a large saucepan over medium high heat until meat is no longer pink. Drain fat, add potatoes and Worcestershire sauce. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
  • Reduce heat to medium low, cover and simmer for 30 minutes, or until potatoes are tender.

I was in a pinch one night for some garlic bread, and I had to use what I had on hand. This garlic bread can pretty much be made anytime because it uses ingredients that are SUPER common.

3 pieces white bread
4 tablespoons butter or 4 tablespoons margarine
1 teaspoon garlic powder
2 teaspoons italian seasoning
salt (if you use unsalted butter, if you use salted, leave this out.)

Steps:

  • Preheat oven (or broiler) to 350 degrees.
  • Lay out each piece of white bread and cut off crusts (I like to cut off the vertical crusts and leave the horizontal pieces of crust on but it really doesn't matter.).
  • Cut each piece of bread in half vertically (longways).
  • Set bread aside and discard crusts.
  • In a small bowl mix together butter, garlic powder, Italian Seasoning and salt to taste ( if needed).
  • Spread butter mixture thinly over one side of each slice of bread.
  • Place bread buttered side up on a small baking sheet and place in the broiler.
  • Let bread toast for about 3 or 4 minutes or until golden brown (be careful not to burn the bread!).
  • Remove from broiler and serve immediately.

8 -12 ounces elbow macaroni
1/2 lb mild Italian sausage
3/4 cup chopped onion (about 1 small-medium onion)
2 -3 cloves garlic, chopped
1 (16 ounce) can diced tomatoes (not drained)
1 1/2 cups mild cheddar cheese or 1 1/2 cups sharp cheddar cheese, shredded
1 teaspoon oregano or 1 teaspoon dried basil leaves, chopped
1/2 cup breadcrumbs, about
1/4 cup parmesan cheese, about
2 tablespoons olive oil, about

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 375-400°.
  • Cook noodles, slightly undercooked.
  • In a separate pan, sauté onions and garlic in olive oil; add sausage and brown.
  • After brown, add tomatoes and spices, and pepper to taste.
  • Simmer for roughly 5 minutes.
  • Drain noodles and pour into 2-3 quart casserole dish.
  • Pour tomato/sausage mixture into dish and toss.
  • Add cheddar cheese and blend.
  • Sprinkle breadcrumbs and parmesan cheese to cover top of casserole.
  • Sprinkle roughly 2 Tbsp.
  • olive oil over casserole.
  • Bake for 20-25 minutes, or until top is brown and casserole is heated.
