JELLY WORMS IN DIRT

Steps:

• Put 3 cups water in a pan, bring to a boil and turn off the heat. Stir in the strawberry and unflavored gelatin until completely dissolved. Stir in the cream. Pour the hot liquid into a bowl and let stand until slightly thickened, 15 to 20 minutes.
• Meanwhile, using a tall drinking glass wide enough to hold all the straws, cut out a circle from the slice of bread to fit in the bottom of the glass. Bundle the straws together with a rubber band and stand them up in the glass, pressing the bottom ends into the circle of bread.
• Using a spouted measuring cup, pour the gelatin mixture into the tops of the straws. Refrigerate until chilled and set up completely, 1 1/2 to 2 hours.
• Put the chocolate wafers in a resealable plastic bag and crush with a rolling pin. Arrange the crushed cookie on a plate or in a cleaned flower pot.
• Use the back of a flat wooden spoon to push the gelatin out of the straws. Toss the jelly worms into the crushed cookies, leaving some to stick out.

MUD AND WORMS

Steps:

• Place the chocolate sandwich cookies into a resealable plastic zipper bag, and crush with a rolling pin into crumbs. For a more mudlike appearance, untwist the cookies and scrape off the creme filling before crushing cookies.
• Whisk together the chocolate pudding mix with the milk in a bowl, stirring for 2 minutes. Sprinkle about 1/3 of the crushed sandwich cookie crumbs into the bottom of a serving bowl, and spoon the chocolate pudding over the crumbs. Smooth out the top of the pudding, then top with the rest of the chocolate cookie crumbs to resemble dirt. Poke gummy worms halfway into the dirt. Refrigerate until serving.

DIRT TRIFLE WITH GUMMY WORMS

Steps:

• Bake cake mix according to directions on box for 9x13 pan and cool.
• I use a huge bowl so I do 2 sets of layers.
• Layer 1 Once the cake is cooled cut into squares (makes it easier to crumble) and start to crumble it for you first layer. Note: Only for this first layer of cake, press into the bottom of the bowl.
• Layer 2 Mix chocolate pudding according to package directions (don't let it set because it can just be poured over the cake layer easier).
• Layer 3 Cool Whip (spread on with spatula to cover pudding).
• Repeat layer process one more time. Then top it with an extra layer of dirt( crumbled cake) for the gummy worms to sit on.
• Refrigerate for at least 1 hour.
• Top with Gummy Worms just before serving.
• You can also make these in little individual cups for a kid party. Just do 1 layer of each and 1 extra layer of dirt (cake) Top with 1 or 2 gummy worms.
• Note: Prep and Cooking Time do not include cooling time for cake or setting time in the refrigerator.

DIRT AND WORMS RECIPE

Steps:

• Start by preparing your instant chocolate pudding per package instructions.Let it set up, this will take about 10 minutes.
• Meanwhile crush the Oreo cookies into a crumble. Pulse them in a food processor for 30-40 times, or place them in a baggie and crush them with a rolling pin or meat tenderizer.
• Grab the small clear cups and layer the dirt and worms:1 tbsp crushed Oreos1 heaping tbsp chocolate pudding1 tbsp crushed Oreos1 heaping tbsp chocolate puddinganchor the gummy worms in the puddingtop with another layer of 1 tbsp crushed Oreos
• You should have enough to make 6 cups.
• Serve immediately or pop in the fridge for a few hours.

GUMMY WORM MARSHMALLOW TREATS

Steps:

• Heat marshmallows and margarine in a 3-qt. saucepan over low heat, stirring constantly to melt the mixture until smooth.
• *I do the above in the microwave, checking and stirring in one minute intervals.*.
• Remove from heat and stir in vanilla.
• Stir in half of the cereal and half of the gummy worms at a time until mixture is evenly distributed.
• Press the mixture into a buttered 9 x 9" square pan.
• Cool mixture in pan, then cut into bars.
