The softest, tastiest sugar cookies ever. They are also very strong for decorating and make beautiful designs. Great for a holiday treat.

Ingredients

1 cup margarine
3/4 cup firmly packed domino light brown sugar
3/4 cup domino granulated sugar
2 eggs
2 tablespoons milk
2 tablespoons vanilla
4 cups all-purpose flour
2 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
1 teaspoon salt

Steps:

Beat butter and sugars together until light and fluffy. Add the eggs, milk, and vanilla and re-mix.
Combine the flour, baking powder, and salt, and blend it into the batter.
Cover and chill in the fridge 3-4 hours.
Roll out the dough on a lightly floured counter, board, or rolling pin cloth. Be sure to also flour the rolling pin or dough will stick. Cut into shapes about 1/4 inch think and place on a cookie sheet on top of parchment paper.
Bake at 375 degrees for 8-10 minutes or until the edges are very light, light brown. Cool completely and decorate as desired.

2 1/4 cups sifted all-purpose flour
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
1 teaspoon salt
1/2 lb. (1 cup) soft butter or margarine
1 1/4 cups firmly packed Domino Dark Brown Sugar
2 eggs
1 1/2 teaspoons vanilla
2 packages (6 oz. each) semi-sweet chocolate bits
1 cup chopped pecans or walnuts, optional

Steps:

Sift flour, soda and salt together. Cream butter and sugar thoroughly. Add eggs and vanilla, beating until light. Gradually add flour mixture, beating until smooth. Add chocolate bits and nuts. Drop by teaspoon on ungreased baking sheet. Bake in moderate oven 375°F, 8 to 10 minutes or until edges brown.

1/2 cup butter
1/2 cup granulated sugar
1/2 cup brown sugar, packed
1 teaspoon vanilla
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 cup Dutch-processed cocoa powder
1/3 cup water
1 teaspoon baking soda
1 1/4 cups flour
1 cup white chocolate chips
1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips

Steps:

Preheat oven to 325°F.
Cream together butter, sugars, vanilla and salt.
Beat in cocoa powder.
Dissolve baking soda in water and mix into dough.
Stir in flour, and then chips.
Place dough by spoonful on a greased baking sheet.
Bake for 14 to 16 minutes. (Do not overbake! Cookies will seem a bit underdone when they should come out of the oven - this keeps them from drying out).

1 1/4 cups butter, slightly softened
2 cups sugar
2 eggs
2 teaspoons vanilla
2 cups flour
3/4 cup cocoa powder (Hershey's Special Dark)
1 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon salt
12 ounces white chocolate, cut roughly into chunks

Steps:

Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Line baking sheet with parchment paper and set aside.
In a medium bowl, combine flour, cocoa powder, baking soda and salt. Set aside.
In the bowl of your standing mixer, cream butter and sugar on medium speed until fluffy and light in color (1 minute). Add eggs one at a time, beating after each. Beat in vanilla.
With the mixer set on low speed, slowly add flour mixture until it is completely mixed inches Fold in white chocolate chunks.
Scoop with a large cookie scoop onto prepared baking sheets, 3 inches apart. Bake for about 9 minutes, or until edges are just set. Middles will not look done, they will set upon cooling.

1 large egg, room temperature
1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Steps:

Preheat oven to 350°. Cream butter, shortening and sugar until light and fluffy, 5-7 minutes. Beat in egg and vanilla. In another bowl, whisk flour, baking powder and baking soda; gradually beat into creamed mixture., Shape into 1-in. balls. Roll in additional sugar. Place on greased baking sheets; flatten with a glass. Bake until set, 10-12 minutes. Remove to wire racks to cool.
