1 ounce simple syrup
4-5 basil leaves
1 ounce fresh lime juice
2 bar spoonfuls of orange marmalade
1 1/2 ounces Partida tequila
Lime wedge for garnish

Steps:

  • In a mixing glass muddle 4-5 basil leaves and add 1 ounce simple syrup. Muddle again. Add one ounce fresh lime juice, 2 bar spoons orange marmalade and 1 1/2 ounce Partida tequila. Add ice and shake. Strain into rocks glass filled with ice. Garnish with lime wedge.

This scrumptious recipe was adapted from one posted in Quick Cooking's April 2000 issue. A fabulous, rich, twist on an old-time favorite! Fantastic served with fresh fruit and/or tomato soup! ENJOY!!

3 ounces light cream cheese
3/4 cup mayonnaise
4 ounces shredded cheddar cheese
4 ounces mozzarella cheese
1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
1/8 teaspoon Season-All salt
10 -12 slices Italian bread (1/2-inch thick slices)
2 tablespoons butter or 2 tablespoons margarine, softened

Steps:

  • In a mixing bowl, beat cream cheese and mayonnaise until smooth.
  • Stir in cheddar cheese, mozzarella cheese, garlic powder and Season-All.
  • Butter one side of all pieces of bread.
  • Place half of the buttered breads butter-side down into frying pan.
  • Top with 1/3 cup of the cheese mixture.
  • Top with the remaining bread, butter side up.
  • Cook on medium heat until golden brown on both sides.

1 slice sharp Cheddar cheese
1 slice mozzarella cheese
2 thick bread slices
1 pinch dried oregano, or to taste
1 pinch salt and ground black pepper to taste
2 tablespoons salted butter, at room temperature
1 tablespoon chopped fresh parsley, or to taste
1 teaspoon chopped fresh chives, or to taste

Steps:

  • Assemble the sandwich by placing Cheddar and mozzarella cheese on the bread. Season with oregano, salt, and pepper.
  • Heat butter in a pan over medium-low heat. Add sandwich and cook until cheeses melt, 3 to 5 minutes, increasing heat if needed. Flip and cook until golden brown, 3 to 5 minutes more.
  • Cut in half and top with parsley and chives.
