SWEET SIMMERED PORK CHOPS
A sweet simmering sauce that works great with pork chops, chicken, etc. Makes everything super tender. My kids love it!

- Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Line a baking sheet with foil.
- In a bowl, stir together the barbecue sauce, brown sugar, soda, garlic, and pepper until the sugar has dissolved. Set the sauce aside. Place the pork chops on the prepared baking sheet.
- Bake the pork chops in the preheated oven until the juices start to run clear and an instant-read thermometer inserted into the center of a chop reads 120 degrees F (49 degrees C.) Transfer the pork chops to a baking dish big enough to lay the chops into the dish without overlapping. Pour the sauce over the chops, and cover the dish with foil.
- Bake the chops until no longer pink in the center, about 25 minutes. An instant-read thermometer inserted into the center should read 165 degrees F (75 degrees C).

GRILLED DR. PEPPER PORK TENDERLOIN

- Pierce pork tenderloins several times with a fork and place in a Ziploc bag. Set aside.
- Whisk together remaining ingredients and pour over the pork. Marinate for at least four hours, not longer than overnight.
- When ready to cook, preheat grill over medium high heat. Set one side of the grill to high and the other to low. Lightly oil grates. Place the tenderloins on the side set to medium-low and cook for 7 minutes. Flip and cook for 6 minutes. Leave the lid closed, turn off heat, and allow to stand for 5 more minutes (an internal temperature should read at least 145 degrees F.) Slice into 1/2″ slices and serve with veggies and rice if desired.

- Place the onion in the bottom of the slow cooker. Rub the outside of the roast with salt, pepper and garlic powder.
- Pour the Dr. Pepper over the pork and cook on high 4-5 hours or on low 7-8 hours.
- The meat will be very tender. Using 2 forks, shred the pork and place back in the juices.
- Add barbecue sauce to taste. Allow to cook an additional 30-60 minutes if desired.
- Serve on crusty rolls with coleslaw.

- Place the ribs in a large baking dish. Pour in Dr. Pepper and cover them, reserving at least 1/2 cup for the sauce. Add he salt and soak the ribs in fridge overnight (or at least 2 hours).
- Heat the oven to 350°F Remove the ribs from the liquid, dry them, and rub with the chili powder. Place them on a baking dish, add 1 cup of water, and cover tightly with foil. Cook for 2 hours, until the meat nearly falls off the bone.
- For BBQ Sauce: Heat the oil in saucepan over medium heat. Saute the onion and garlic until they're soft and fragrant and add the ketchup, Worcestershire, vinegar, cayenne and 1/2 cup of Dr. Pepper. Simmer for 15 to 20 minutes, or until the sauce thickens.
- Fire up the grill, and brush the ribs with sauce. When the grill is hot, cook them bone side down on a cooler part for 10 to 15 minutes. Flip them and cook until lightly charred and smoky.
- Remove and brush on more sauce.
