EASY BAKED HAM AND CHEESE PINWHEELS



Easy Baked Ham and Cheese Pinwheels image

Easy Baked Ham and Cheese Pinwheels are so quick and easy to make! Your favorite sandwich meat, cheese, garlic butter and refrigerated pizza dough is all you need! The possibilities are truly endless and a delicious result every time.

Number Of Ingredients 5

1 tube refrigerated pizza dough
3/4 pound Black Forest Ham, thinly sliced, between 12 and 16 slices
8 slices cheese, sliced, your favorite variety or shredded
1/4 cup garlic butter, melted
mustard, your favorite variety, if needed for serving

Steps:

  • Preheat your oven to 425 degrees. Prepare a 6 hole muffin pan with cooking spray and set aside.
  • Roll out your refrigerated pizza dough into a rectangle. Using a brush, coat dough in melted garlic butter.
  • Top with slices of ham and shredded or sliced cheese, starting at a corner. Lay slices of ham and cheese until the dough is totally covered.
  • Starting at the narrow end, roll the dough up as tightly as possible.
  • Slice roll 5 times so you have 6 pieces, between 1 1/2 and 2 inches thick.
  • Place your slices in your prepared muffin pan and brush remaining melted butter across the top of each pinwheel.
  • Bake, uncovered, for 20 minutes or until a golden brown color. Serve and enjoy! These are delicious as a snack or a small meal or even dipped in over easy egg yolks!

Ham and Cheese Pinwheels are made with cream cheese, sliced deli ham, and cheese and make a quick and easy snack or appetizer. These baked puff pastry roll-ups are perfect for any occasion and a crowd pleaser every time I make them!

1 sheet frozen puff pastry (about 8.5 oz, thawed)
8 oz cream cheese ((225g))
1 Tbsp Dijon mustard
7 slices deli ham (6 oz., cut into cubes (170g))
1 cup shredded sharp cheddar (Gruyere or, Swiss cheese, (125g))
1/4 tsp freshly ground black pepper

Steps:

  • Combine cream cheese, dijon mustard, cubed ham, shredded cheese, and pepper.
  • On a lightly floured piece of parchment paper, roll out the puff pastry into a 10×12-inch rectangle. Spread the cream cheese mixture evenly over top, leaving a 1/4-inch border on both long ends.
  • Starting at a long end, roll the puff pastry into a tight log using the parchment as leverage. Press the edges together to seal. Wrap the log in plastic wrap, and refrigerate it, seam side down, for 15-30 minutes.
  • Preheat the oven to 375˚F with racks in the upper and lower thirds. Line 2 large baking sheets with parchment paper.
  • Using a sharp knife, cut the puff pastry log into 1/2 inch slices. Arrange the rolls on the prepared baking sheets, spacing them 1-2 inches apart.
  • Bake until golden brown, rotating and switching the pans halfway through, about 20-25 minutes. Let cool slightly. Serve warm.

These ham and cheese pinwheels are tasty cheesy scrolls that everyone will love. They are the perfect size for children and grown-ups alike, making it the perfect sharing food.

60 grams spring onion (finely chopped)
140 grams canned pineapple (drained and finely chopped)
200 grams double smoked ham (finely diced)
40 grams cheddar cheese (grated)
40 grams parmesan cheese (grated)
1 teaspoon garlic powder
1 1/2 teaspoons oregano (dried)
280 grams self-raising flour (sifted)
40 grams salted butter
125 ml milk
4 tablespoons of your favorite bottled tomato pasta sauce

Steps:

  • Line two baking trays with baking paper.
  • In a large bowl combine all the ingredients from filling group 1 and mix well. Divide the mixture evenly into two. Put aside for later.
  • In another a large bowl combine the flour and butter. Using your hands rub the butter into the flour, until it resembles fine breadcrumbs. Then add most of the milk. Use a butter knife to mix the dough until it is combined, adding a little more milk if necessary. Shape into a ball and divide into two.
  • Place each dough ball onto a piece of plastic food wrap which measures slightly larger than 20 x 3 0cm (8 x 12 inch).
  • Roll the dough out to a 20 x 30 cm (8 x 12 inch) rectangle.
  • Divide and spread the sauce evenly between the two dough rectangles.
  • Top each with the divided ham/cheese filling mixture.
  • Using the plastic food wrap as a guide, roll up the dough from the long edge.
  • Cut each roll into 15 even sized pieces.
  • Place the pieces cut side up onto the prepared baking trays.
  • Bake for 20 - 25 minutes or until golden. Serve warm or at room temperature.

1-1/2 pounds uncooked egg noodles
3 pounds cubed fully cooked ham
4 cans (10-3/4 ounces each) condensed cream of chicken soup, undiluted
4 cups frozen cut green beans, thawed
1 cup 2% milk
1/4 cup butter, melted
2 cups shredded Colby-Monterey Jack cheese

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 350°. Cook pasta according to package directions., Meanwhile, in a large bowl, combine ham, soup, beans and milk. Drain pasta; pour over ham mixture and toss to coat. Transfer to 2 greased 13x9-in. baking dishes., Drizzle each with butter; sprinkle with cheese. Bake, uncovered, 25-30 minutes or until heated through. Freeze option: Cool unbaked casseroles; cover and freeze up to 3 months. To use, partially thaw in refrigerator overnight. Remove from refrigerator 30 minutes before baking. Preheat oven to 350°. Bake, uncovered, 40--45 minutes or until heated through and a thermometer inserted in center reads 165°.
