MOJITOS BY THE PITCHER



Mojitos by the Pitcher image

I have served this to people who have sworn that they dislike mojitos and they love it. I believe it is the fresh ingredients and the use of sugar, instead of simple syrup, muddled together that makes this cocktail refreshing and delicious. It takes a little bit of work but the results are well worth it. Serve over ice.

½ cup white sugar
36 leaves fresh mint, or to taste
3 limes, quartered
1 cup rum (such as Bacardi®)
1 liter club soda

Steps:

  • Muddle sugar and mint leaves together in pitcher until leaves are well broken down. Add limes and muddle until limes are juiced. Stir rum into sugar mixture; add club soda and stir until sugar is dissolved.

This is a delicious, easy alternative to making the time-consuming Mojito.

2 cups fresh mint leaves, rinsed
2 (12 fluid ounce) cans frozen limeade
3 quarts water
2 cups lemon flavored rum
4 quarts ice
16 lime wedges, for garnish

Steps:

  • Place the mint leaves, limeade, and 2 cups of water into a blender. Pulse-blend the mixture until the mint leaves are in small pieces, but not completely pulverized. Strain the mixture into a 1 gallon container. Stir in the rum and remaining 2 1/2 quarts of water.n
  • To serve, fill tall glasses with ice cubes, pour in the limeade mixture, and garnish each glass with a lime wedge.n
