1 lemon, cut in half
Sugar, to rim the glasses
Ice
3 ounces cognac
1 1/2 ounces fresh lemon juice
1 1/2 ounces orange liqueur

Steps:

  • Rim the glasses with the lemon halves. Place some sugar on a shallow plate and dip the tops of the glasses in it. Fill a shaker halfway with ice. Add the cognac, lemon juice and orange liqueur. Shake for 10 seconds. Strain into the sugar-rimmed glasses and enjoy!

1/2 cup Triple Sec or Cointreau
1/4 cup freshly squeezed lemon juice
Maraschino cherries or lemon peel, to garnish

Steps:

  • If you want to frost the glasses, dip the rim or 4 martini glasses in a shallow plate of lemon juice and then in the sugar. Allow to dry for 15 minutes.
  • Combine the Cognac, Triple Sec, and lemon juice in a pitcher. Pour some into a cocktail shaker with ice, shake well and pour into the glasses. Garnish with a cherry or lemon peel.

  • Shake well, until the outside of the shaker feels cold, then strain the cocktail into the chilled glass. If the lemon juice is too sharp, add the bitters to taste.
