This is a very easy, make-ahead dessert. It is very pretty and tastes like you've really gone to a lot of trouble to make it! Yum!!!

Ingredients

1 (7 ounce) package jellyrolls, each cut into 3 slices
1 (5 ounce) package instant vanilla pudding mix
1 ½ cups milk
3 cups frozen whipped topping, thawed
2 cups sliced fresh strawberries

Steps:

Arrange jellyroll slices on sides and bottom of a 2 1/2 quart glass bowl or trifle dish.
Prepare pudding according to box directions, except use only 1 1/2 cups milk; let sit for 5 minutes to thicken. Fold in 1 cup whipped topping.
Arrange 1/2 strawberries on jellyroll slices; top with pudding, then remaining strawberries and whipped topping. Garnish with strawberry halves, if desired.
Cover and chill for 8 hours; serve.

In a small mixing bowl, whisk together pudding mix and milk for two minutes until thickened. Add in a pea-sized drop of pink gel food dye, and mix until well-combined. Set aside in refrigerator to chill.
Cut premade angel food cake (I get mine at the local grocery store bakery) into three layers, about 1 1/2 inch thick. Use a small heart cookie cutter to cut out heart shapes, using up the entire cake.
Cut strawberries into hearts. This is done by pinching off the leaves and making a v-shape cut at the top near the stem. Cut strawberries in halves to reveal their heart shape.
Assemble the mini trifles in small dessert glasses. Place a layer of strawberries at the bottom. Add a layer of pudding and cake. Add another layer of pudding on top of the cake, and finish off by topping with strawberry hearts. Repeat this step in all the dishes.

Measure out Chex cereal into a large bowl. Note: if you're using the Strawberry Candy Melts, you'll use 4 cups of cereal. If you're using the white chocolate chips + pudding mix, you'll use 6 cups of cereal.
Pour chocolate into a small glass dish. Add 1/2 tsp shortening, if desired, to help the chocolate coat the cereal easier. Microwave for 1 minute 20 seconds. Let sit in the microwave for 3 minutes. Remove and gently stir. If chocolate loves its shape and looks smooth, it's done. If not, return to the microwave in 15 second increments, letting it sit for 2-3 minutes each time, until melted and smooth.
If you used White Chocolate Chips + Pudding Mix: Add 4 TBSP of the strawberry creme pudding into the white chocolate and stir gently until smooth. Add 2 drops of red food coloring, if desired.
