Peach Cobbler image

This old fashioned Peach Cobbler recipe is not only extremely easy to make from scratch, but it's made with fresh or canned peaches so you can enjoy it all year round!

Categories     Dessert

Time 55m

Number Of Ingredients 10

5 peaches (, peeled, cored and sliced (about 4 cups))
3/4 cup granulated sugar
1/4 teaspoon salt
6 Tablespoons butter
1 cup all-purpose flour
1 cup granulated sugar
2 teaspoons baking powder
1/4 teaspoon salt
3/4 cup milk
ground cinnamon

Steps:

  • Add the sliced peaches, sugar and salt to a saucepan and stir to combine. *(If using canned peaches, skip steps 1 & 2 and follow the directions starting at step 3)
  • Cook on medium heat for just a few minutes, until the sugar is dissolved and helps to bring out juices from the peaches. Remove from heat and set aside.
  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Slice butter into pieces and add to a 9x13 inch baking dish. Place the pan in the oven while it preheats, to allow the butter to melt. Once melted, remove the pan from the oven.
  • In a large bowl mix together the flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt. Stir in the milk, just until combined. Pour the mixture into the pan, over the melted butter and smooth it into an even layer.
  • Spoon the peaches and juice (or canned peaches, if using) over the batter. Sprinkle cinnamon generously over the top.
  • Bake at 350 degrees for about 38-40 minutes. Serve warm, with a scoop of ice cream, if desired.

EASY WHITE PEACH COBBLER

Categories     Dessert

Yield 4 -6

Number Of Ingredients 6

2 cups peaches, cut into bite sized pieces (about 3)
1/2 cup (1 stick) butter
1 cup sugar
1 cup self-rising flour (If you use all-purpose instead, don't forget to add baking powder and salt.)
1 teaspoon vanilla
1 cup milk

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
  • Place butter in a two quart casserole dish and place in the oven just until melted. (I do this while I am preheating.)
  • With a fork stir in sugar, flour, and vanilla until well combined.
  • Stirring constantly, gradually add milk. Stir with a fork or whisk to break up any lumps until well combined. You will probably not be able to get rid of every flour lump, but that is ok.
  • Stir in peaches.
  • Bake for 45-50 minutes or until golden brown and crust is set.

  • In a medium-size mixing bowl coarsely mix the flour, 3/4 cup of the sugar, and 1/4 cup melted butter together. You can add a dash of cinnamon here if you want too.
  • Sprinkle about one-third of the flour mixture on the bottom of an 8x8 baking dish. The flour mixture will slightly mix with the syrup of the peaches while baking and thicken it up a bit.
  • Add the peaches with their juice to the dish. If you like your cobbler on the dry side don't add all of the liquid. It was perfect in my opinion.
