SUPER-EASY CRAB PUFFS
A good savory appetizer can be hard to find, especially when you don't want to spend all afternoon prepping it in the kitchen. That's why we made these easy crab puffs, which are completely delicious and also completely easy to make. One thing that makes this recipe so simple is that these are baked crab puffs. There's no need to stand over a hot stove cooking up this appetizer. Just assemble the ingredients, (which include some amazing secret flavors) and let them bake while you get ready for your party! Steps:
- Preheat the oven to 400°F. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- In a medium bowl, combine the cream cheese, sour cream, crabmeat, minced green onion, garlic, lemon zest, lemon juice, Worcestershire, and salt and pepper to taste. Mix well.
- Lightly flour a work surface. Roll out the pastry to about a 12-inch square. Cut into 16 squares.
- Fill each square with about 2 tablespoons of the crab filling.
- Fold the dough over on each side of the square to create a raised, open cup.
- Brush each pastry with the egg. Place on the prepared baking sheet.
- Bake for 20 minutes until puffed and golden.
- Sprinkle with the chopped green onion. Serve.

- Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).
- Combine water and butter in a saucepan; bring to a boil. Reduce heat to low and add flour; stir to form a ball. Remove from the heat and add eggs all at once; stir until smooth.
- Drop by teaspoonfuls onto a cookie sheet.
- Bake in the preheated oven until puffs are a nice golden brown and hollow sounding, 20 to 25 minutes. Remove from the oven and let cool.

- Preheat the oven to 350°F (180°C), or heat a large pot filled halfway with cooking oil to 350°F (180°C). Place a wire rack on top of a baking sheet.
- In large pan, add the vegetable oil, onion, chicken, salt, pepper, cumin, curry powder, and cayenne. Cook for 10 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the onion softens.
- Add the potatoes, peas and carrots, and milk and stir to combine. Cook for 10 minutes, stirring to break up the potatoes, until the curry thickens to the consistency of mashed potatoes. Remove the pan from the heat and let the curry cool for 30 minutes.
- Dust a clean surface with flour and roll out the puff pastry to flatten the seams.
- Using a wine glass, cut out 8 circles from each pastry sheet.
- Scoop 1 tablespoon of the cooled curry filling in the center of a puff pastry circle. Fold the puff pastry in half, press the edges together, and seal the edges in a folding and rolling motion.
- If baking, place the curry puffs on the prepared baking sheet and brush with the egg wash. Bake for 15 minutes, or until golden brown.
- If frying, add the curry puffs to the hot oil in batches and fry for 5 minutes, until golden brown.
- Let cool for 10 minutes before serving.
- Enjoy!

CRAB PUFFS

Steps:
- Melt butter in a medium saucepan over medium heat. Add shallots, and cook until softened, 3 to 4 minutes. Add flour, and cook, whisking constantly, for 1 minute. Add milk in a slow, steady stream, whisking constantly, until mixture comes to a boil. Reduce heat to low, and cook, whisking often, until mixture has thickened, about 3 minutes.
- Add crabmeat, Parmesan, minced parsley, lemon zest, and a pinch of cayenne. Remove from heat, and stir until combined. Season with salt and pepper. Spread mixture on a rimmed baking sheet, and let cool completely. (Cooled mixture can be covered and refrigerated for up to 1 day.)
- Set a wire rack over a rimmed baking sheet. Whisk eggs in a shallow dish. Place breadcrumbs in another shallow dish. Shape cooled crabmeat mixture into 1-inch balls. Working with 1 ball at a time, coat in beaten egg, then in breadcrumbs. Transfer to rack. Repeat with remaining balls. Let stand, uncovered, at room temperature for 30 minutes.
- Heat 4 inches of oil in a large, heavy pot until it reaches 375 degrees. Working in batches, fry crab balls, turning once, until golden brown, 1 1/2 to 2 minutes. (Adjust heat as necessary to keep oil at a steady temperature.) Using a wire-mesh skimmer, transfer crab puffs to paper towels to drain, and immediately season with salt.
- Reduce heat until oil reaches 350 degrees. Fry capers for 1 minute, and using a wire-mesh skimmer, transfer to paper towels to drain. Fry parsley leaves for 1 minute, and using a wire-mesh skimmer, transfer to paper towels to drain. (The capers and parsley may cause the hot oil to spatter when added to the pot.) Sprinkle puffs with capers and parsley. Serve warm.
CUTE CREAM PUFFS RECIPE BY TASTY

- Preheat the oven to 425˚F (220˚C). Line 2 baking sheets with parchment paper. Chill a large bowl in the freezer.
- Add the melted chocolate to a small piping bag or zip-top bag and cut ⅛ inch (3 mm) off the tip of the bag.
- Pipe 10 sets of ears, eyes, noses, mouths, and paws onto 1 of the parchment-lined baking sheets. Chill in the refrigerator until ready to use.
- Make the puffs: in a medium pot, bring the butter, water, milk, sugar, and salt to a boil over high heat.
- Once the liquid begins to boil, remove the pot from the heat and immediately add the flour, stirring constantly with a wooden spoon until the liquid is absorbed and the mixture begins to form a ball.
- Return the pot to the heat and cook for another 30 seconds to remove excess moisture. Remove the pot from the heat. Working quickly, add the eggs one at a time, stirring until each one is fully incorporated before adding the next. Continue stirring until the dough starts to pull away from the sides of the pan and is thick and glossy. Transfer the batter to a piping bag or zip-top bag fitted with a round tip.
- Pipe 1-inch (2-cm) dollops of batter on the prepared baking sheet, spacing them at least 1-inch (2-cm) apart.
- Dip a fingertip in the egg wash and gently press down any points, then brush the egg wash lightly all over the puffs.
- Bake for 10 minutes. Reduce the oven temperature to 350˚F (180˚C), and continue to bake for 20 minutes more, until golden brown.
- Transfer the puffs to a wire rack and cool until able to handle. Cut the tops off of the puffs with a serrated knife. Let cool completely.
- Make the whipped cream: add the heavy cream and powdered sugar to the chilled bowl and beat with an electric hand mixer or whisk until stiff peaks form. Transfer the whipped cream to a piping bag or zip-top bag fitted with a round tip.
- Pipe mounds of whipped cream into the puffs. Add the tops of the puffs and decorate with the chocolate faces.

EASY CRAB PUFFS RECIPE - (4/5)

- Preheat oven to 400 degrees F. Cut puff pastry into 16 squares. I use a pizza cutter, it's easy that way. Depending on brand of puff pastry you buy, you might have a rectangular sheet that you could get away with cutting 20 squares. You'll have enough filling for 20 if you can get 20 squares. I used the Trader Joe's brand which comes in a square so I get 16, like this: Easy Crab Puffs Combine all the rest of the ingredients in a bowl. Place a couple teaspoons of filling in the center of each puff pastry square and spread from one corner to the opposite corner diagonally. Keep the other two corners clear of filling. If you have leftover filling, you can go back and add a little more to each puff, or just use it as a dip with crackers for a little cook's treat. Take one of the corners that doesn't have filling on it and fold it across the filling, then fold the other corner over that, tucking it tightly to the other side. As they bake, they'll spread apart more so make sure and press to seal, using a bit of water on your finger to help seal if needed. Sorry I don't have a picture of how I folded them, but you can probably see what I mean by looking at the pictures of the puffs. Place puffs on a cookie sheet with a little space in between like you'd do with cookies. I use a silicone mat or parchment paper on the pan for easy removal and cleanup. In a small bowl, beat egg to use as an egg wash and brush egg wash over the tops of each puff. Bake for 12-15 minutes or until tops and bottoms of puffs are golden brown. Garnish with green onions if you'd like and serve.
