FAUX TEXAS TWISTER
This is a non-alcoholic fruit punch, similar to the Texas Twister lemonades sold at fairs. It isn't exact but it is very close according "The Suzzzz" from Tasty Kitchen. One more thing, listed below 8 cups of Sprite is be used. According to the Tasty Kitchen recipe, the amount should be: 8 cups, 7 tablespoons, 3/4 teaspoons, 1/3 pinches Sprite Lemon Lime Soda. You can make the adjustment, but I doubt if it would seriously make a difference. Also, remember, this is "faux". The original recipe is top secret, but it's fun trying to duplicate. Try it for your 4th of July gathering!

Steps:
- Wash all of the fruit, with peels still on.
- Juice 5 of the oranges, 5 of the lemons and 5 of the limes; pour juices into a blender with grenadine, cherry syrup, and sugar. Blend on high for about 30 seconds.
- Place the ice in a large pitcher and pour the Sprite and the juice mixture over the ice and stir. Cut the remaining fruits in half and then cut each half into 6 wedges. Place 1 wedge of each cirtrus plus a maraschino cherry in the bottom of 12 glasses. Pour punch over fruit and serve.

Steps:
- Preheat oven to 350º.
- Mix all the dry ingredients (wheat gluten, yeast flakes, granulated onion, garlic powder, and white pepper) in work bowl of Kitchen Aid (or other mixer) or mixing bowl. Give it a quick whisk to incorporate.
- Combine tofu, 1 1/2 cups of broth, 1/2 cup garbanzo beans, 1 tablespoon of olive oil, and 1 tablespoon of poultry seasoning in blender. Blend for 30 seconds or until completely smooth. You want the tofu to be fully broken down. It should look like a smoothie.
- Pour the wet ingredients into the dry and mix together. Dough will be wet. Turn out onto a cutting board and knead for about 5 minutes. Shape into loaf, put in oiled bread pan and let stand for another 5 minutes.
- Mix 1 cup vegetable broth, 1 tablespoon olive oil, 1/2 tablespoon poultry seasoning, and 2 garlic cloves, minced, to make the basting broth over medium heat.
- When dough is finished resting, baste with one or two baster squeezes of broth. Put in oven.
- Baste again at :30 minutes. (You'll have broth left over.).
- Bake 1 hour. Dough will feel firm to the touch and nicely browned. Broth should be completely absorbed. Let cool for :15 minutes before serving.
- Freezes great!

TEXAS TWINKIES
Brisket- and cream cheese-stuffed, bacon-wrapped jalapenos with a BBQ glaze. This recipe requires pre-cooked brisket. It is a great recipe to use up any leftover brisket.

Steps:
- Preheat the oven to 300 degrees F (150 degrees C).
- Slice the jalapenos in the shape of a "T": cut a straight vertical line from top to bottom with a cross-cut directly under the stem, making sure to cut only halfway through the jalapenos. Use a spoon to remove and discard all seeds and membranes. Place jalapenos on a baking sheet.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 10 minutes.
- Remove from the oven and place jalapenos in a bowl of ice water to extract the rest of the seeds' oil. If you do not do this step, they will be extremely spicy. Raise the oven temperature to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).
- Remove jalapenos from the water and blot dry with a paper towel. Spread 1 tablespoon of cream cheese inside of each jalapeno. Place approximately 2 ounces of brisket inside each, then wrap with a slice of bacon. Sprinkle a pinch of kosher salt and a pinch of ground pepper over the top of each bacon-wrapped jalapeno, then transfer to the baking sheet.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 30 minutes. Remove from the oven and brush tops with BBQ sauce. Continue to bake for 5 minutes more.
