3 cups rolled oats
1 ½ cups toasted almonds, coarsely chopped
1 cup roasted macadamia nuts, coarsely chopped
1 ½ cups flaked coconut
½ cup extra-virgin olive oil
¾ cup honey
¼ cup butter
½ cup brown sugar
1 teaspoon kosher salt
½ teaspoon ground turmeric
½ teaspoon ground cinnamon
¾ cup golden raisins

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 300 degrees F (150 degrees C).
  • Combine oats, almonds, macadamia nuts, and coconut in a large bowl. Heat olive oil, honey, butter, and brown sugar together in a separate microwave-safe bowl in the microwave until butter is melted, 30 seconds to 1 minute.
  • Whisk butter mixture until brown sugar is dissolved; stir in salt, turmeric, and cinnamon. Pour butter mixture over oat mixture; toss to coat thoroughly. Spread granola evenly on a baking sheet.
  • Bake granola in preheated oven until well-toasted and golden brown, about 30 minutes. Cool on the baking sheet to set, about 15 minutes. Transfer to a large bowl; stir in raisins.

This recipe came about from tinkering with a few granola recipes. I wanted something that tasted really good, using ingredients that I usually have in the house, that was fast to make and on the whole, somewhat healthy.

Number Of Ingredients 8

4 cups rolled oats
2 cups raisins
1 1/2 cups coconut
1/2 cup honey
1/2 cup butter
2 teaspoons cinnamon
1 teaspoon vanilla
1 dash salt

Steps:

  • Combine oats, raisins and coconut in a large bowl; mix well and set aside.
  • Combine honey, butter, cinnamon, vanilla and salt in a microwave proof bowl and cook in microwave until butter and honey are melted.
  • Stir together then pour over oat mixture and toss until well blended.
  • Spread on a lightly greased cookie sheet.
  • Bake at 350 degrees for 20 minutes or until lightly golden.
  • It will darken a little when it cools.
  • Stir half way through.
  • Remove and let cool.

This is a super easy granola recipe. It isn't overly sweet and is a real crowd-pleaser. It also makes your house smell fabulous for hours after you bake it. I normally add about 2 Tbsp. wheat germ and a tsp. brewers yeast to my dry ingredients - for nutritional value.

4 cups rolled oats
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 cup almonds (or other nuts, chopped)
1 tablespoon ground cinnamon
2 tablespoons ground flax seeds (optional)
1/3 cup oil (coconut oil works really well)
2/3 cup honey
1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Steps:

  • Heat oven to 300 degrees.
  • Combine oats, nuts, salt, cinnamon and flax in a large bowl and set aside.
  • Combine oil, honey and vanilla in another, smaller bowl.
  • Mix wet ingredients into dry - you may need to use your hands.
  • Then spread the mixture onto two cookie sheets lined with foil or parchment.
  • Bake 10 minutes. Then remove from oven and stir.
  • Bake an additional 10 minutes or until slightly golden.
  • Remove from oven and allow to cool completely.
  • When cooled, transfer into an airtight container for storage.

1/4 cup slivered almonds
1 tablespoon sesame seeds
2 teaspoons fennel seeds
1/2 cup honey
3 tablespoons smooth peanut butter
3 tablespoons vegetable oil
1/2 teaspoon finely grated orange zest
1 tablespoon fresh orange juice
1 tablespoon vanilla extract
2 cups old-fashioned oats
1/2 teaspoon kosher salt
1/2 cup dried apricots, chopped
1/2 cup sweetened dried cranberries, chopped

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 350°F. Toast pine nuts, sunflower seeds, almonds, sesame seeds, and fennel seeds on a rimmed baking sheet, tossing occasionally, until lightly golden, 5-7 minutes. Reduce oven temperature to 275°F.
  • Meanwhile, whisk honey, peanut butter, oil, orange zest and juice, and vanilla in a medium bowl until smooth. Toss nuts and seeds, oats, and salt in a large bowl. Pour honey mixture over and gently mix until oat mixture is completely coated.
  • Spread out on a parchment-lined rimmed baking sheet and bake, stirring halfway through (edges will take on color before center does), until golden brown, 20-25 minutes. Let cool; granola will crisp as it cools. Break up into pieces, then stir in apricots and cranberries.
  • Granola can be made 1 week ahead. Store tightly covered at room temperature.

1 tablespoon honey

  • Place the fennel quarters in large deep skillet with the centers facing up. Drizzle with olive oil then pour in the chicken broth, honey, and wine. Season with mustard seed, salt, and pepper. Cover and cook over low heat for 45 minutes, turning occasionally.

1 cup chopped nuts, such as pistachios, almonds, pumpkin seeds and walnuts
1/2 cup dried cranberries
1/2 cup raisins
1/4 cup candied ginger chips
1 large egg white, beaten
1/2 cup olive oil
1/4 cup honey, plus more for serving
1/4 cup maple syrup
2 tablespoons fennel seeds, crushed
1 1/2 teaspoons flaky salt, such as Maldon, plus more for serving
1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1/4 teaspoon ground ginger
1/8 teaspoon ground nutmeg
Greek yogurt, for serving
Citrus slices, for serving
Fresh mint, for serving

Steps:

  • Preheat the oven to 300 degrees F. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  • Combine the oats, coconut, nuts, cranberries, raisins, candied ginger, egg white, olive oil, honey, maple syrup, fennel seeds, salt, cinnamon, ginger and nutmeg in a large bowl. Spread out on the prepared baking sheet.
  • Bake until toasted, 40 to 45 minutes, removing the tray from the oven every 10 minutes to stir the granola for even toasting.
  • Serve with Greek yogurt, citrus slices, a drizzle of honey, fresh mint and flaky sea salt. Enjoy.

Steps:

  • In a 9-in. square baking pan, combine honey, butter, brown sugar and cinnamon. Stir in oats and bran. Bake at 350° for 25-30 minutes, stirring occasionally, until golden brown. Stir in raisins if desired. Cool. Store in covered container.
