My Grandmother's Potato Chip Cookies image

Very nice cookies with a good mix of sweet and salty flavors. Passed down from my grandmother.

2 cups butter, softened
1 cup white sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
3 ½ cups all-purpose flour
1 ½ cups crushed salted potato chips

Steps:

  • Preheat an oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Grease baking sheets.
  • Mash the butter, sugar, and vanilla extract together in a bowl until creamy and well combined; mix in the flour a little at a time. Gently fold in the potato chips. Drop dough onto the prepared baking sheets by teaspoonful.
  • Bake in the preheated oven until the edges are golden brown, about 15 minutes. Remove cookies from sheets immediately and cool on wire racks.

1 teaspoon vanilla extract
2 cups all-purpose flour
1 cup crushed potato chips
½ cup chopped walnuts

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Lightly grease 2 baking sheets.
  • Beat the butter and sugar with an electric mixer in a large bowl until smooth. Stir vanilla extract into creamy mixture. Mix flour and crushed potato chips into the mixture until just incorporated. Fold chopped walnuts into the dough. Roll dough into 1-inch balls; press onto prepared baking sheets and flatten gently.
  • Bake in preheated oven until golden around the edges, 10 to 13 minutes.

This cookie is incredible. It's so rich and tasty. I cannot tell how many times I get asked for this recipe. Everyone loves it and it's easy to make. These keep very well. You can make dough ahead time and freeze it. Defrost when ready to use and follow baking instructions. Great cookie for the holidays.

1 ¾ cups all-purpose flour
½ teaspoon baking powder
¼ teaspoon salt
1 cup unsalted butter
½ cup white sugar
¾ cup semisweet chocolate chips
½ cup chopped walnuts

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 300 degrees F (150 degrees C).
  • Sift together the flour, baking powder and salt, set aside. In a medium bowl, cream the butter and sugar together until fluffy. Gradually stir in the dry ingredients, then stir in the walnuts and chocolate chips.
  • Roll or scoop dough into walnut sized balls. Place them on unprepared cookie sheets 1 1/2 inches apart. Flatten cookies slightly. Bake for 15 to 20 minutes, until light golden brown. Remove from sheets to cool on racks.

For those of you who've never tried cookies with potato chips as one of the ingredients you're missing out. It gives them a "Je ne sais quoi" goodness. They are ever so easy to make as well. All my guests loved them when I served them last Christmas.

Number Of Ingredients 5

1 cup butter, at room temperature (2 sticks)
1/2 cup granulated sugar
1 3/4 cups all-purpose flour
1 cup potato chips, crushed
1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 350 F degrees. Lightly grease or parchment line a cookie sheet.
  • In a bowl, combine the flour and the crushed potato chips, set aside.
  • In another bowl, cream together the butter, sugar and vanilla.
  • Incorporate the dry ingredients into the butter and sugar mixture until just combined.
  • Using a teaspoon, scoop out the dough and roll into a ball with your hands.
  • Roll the balls into granulated sugar. Place prepared cookie sheet. Press each ball down lightly with your fingers.
  • Bake for 12 minutes or until the edges are nice and golden. Store in airtight container.
  • NOTE: If you taste the cookie dough before baking, don't be alarmed if it doesn't taste sweet or good enough. You'll be surprised how good they turn out once rolled in sugar and baked. They are yummy.

¾ cup butter
¾ cup white sugar
1 egg yolk
1 ½ cups all-purpose flour
¾ cup crushed potato chips
½ cup chopped walnuts

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).
  • In a medium bowl, cream butter and sugar until smooth. Stir in the egg yolk. Add the flour and nuts, mix until well blended. Stir in the potato chips last, so they don 't get too crunched up.
  • Roll the dough into walnut sized balls. Place 2 inches apart on an unprepared cookie sheet. Bake for 10 to 12 minutes in the preheated oven. Remove from cookie sheet to cool on wire racks.

These cookies are just delicious and the ones the grandkids request all the time. They are both slightly crisp and very chewy. They are also kind of flat but have great flavor. Hope you enjoy them as much as my family does. This makes about 5 dozen plus a few extra. :)

1 cup butter, softened
1 cup Splenda granular
1 cup Splenda brown sugar blend
2 eggs
2 cups flour
1 teaspoon baking soda
1 teaspoon vanilla
1 cup chopped nuts (walnuts and pecans are our favorite)
1 cup chocolate chips
1 cup toffee pieces
2 cups potato chips, crushed

Steps:

  • Pre-heat your oven to 350 degrees F.
  • Cream the butter and Splenda sugars.
  • Add the eggs one at a time and blend well.
  • Mix the baking soda with the flour and add a little at a time to the batter.
  • Add the vanilla.
  • Add the nuts, chocolate chips, toffee bits and potato chips and mix well.
  • Drop the dough, about the size of a walnut, onto a greased cookie sheet.
  • Bake 10 to 12 minutes (Just until they are a light brown, undercooked is better than over cooked.).

  • Sift together the flour and the corn starch and mix in gradually in the butter mixture. Add the chocolate chips.

1/2 cup crushed potato chips
1 1/2 cups flour
1/2 cup finely ground pecans
1/2 cup sugar
1/2 cup margarine, softened
1 large egg yolk
1 teaspoon vanilla
confectioners' sugar

Steps:

  • Combine chips, pecans and flour.
  • In another bowl, cream margarine and sugar.
  • Beat in egg yolk and vanilla.
  • Add dry ingredients until well mixed.
  • With damp hands, form dough into 1 inch balls and place on ungreased cookie sheets.
  • Bake 15-18 minutes at 350°F or until cookies just begin to color.
  • Cool slightly and roll in 10X sugar.

  • bake at 325* for 20 minutes-- until golden and done.
