CRESCENT ROLL WITCH HATS

It doesn't take magic to transform these crescent rolls into charming witch hats-just a few minutes and a couple of ingredients. They're so good, you'll want to make a double batch. -Mara Fletcher, Batesville, Indiana

2 tubes (8 ounces each) refrigerated crescent rolls
1/4 cup butter, softened
1/4 cup minced fresh basil
2 tablespoons oil-packed sun-dried tomatoes, patted dry and finely chopped
1/2 teaspoon garlic powder

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 375°. Unroll each tube of crescent dough; separate each dough into eight triangles. In a small bowl, mix remaining ingredients. Spread 1 teaspoon filling along the wide end of each triangle; carefully roll up once to form brim of hat., Place 2 in. apart on ungreased baking sheets. Bake 10-12 minutes or until golden brown. Rotate halfway through baking to ensure even browning.

1 Blazin' Blue/Green Betty Crocker™ Fruit Roll-Ups® fruit flavored snack from the Blastin' Berry Hot Colors® pack or Fruit Fusion™ variety pack
1 marshmallow
2 dark chocolate fudge-striped shortbread cookies
2 Betty Crocker™ Fruit Gushers® fruit flavored snacks (any variety)

Steps:

  • Unroll fruit flavored snack; remove paper. Cut Blazin' Blue/Green fruit flavored snack in half, separating the blue from green. Cutting diagonally, cut the green half from corner to corner, into two triangles.
  • Cut the marshmallow in half top to bottom with scissors sprayed with cooking spray. Then, on each marshmallow half, cut at an angle around top to make a cone shape.
  • Wrap green fruit flavored snack triangle around marshmallow cone shape, overlapping sides slightly to form witch hat, bending point of hat as desired. Place wrapped marshmallow on top of fudge cookie. Cut two thin strips from the remaining half of blue fruit flavored snack. Wrap one of the strips around the base of each wrapped marshmallow hat. Press Gushers® fruit flavored snack on strip to look like a buckle.

1/2 cup butter, softened
1 cup sugar
2 eggs
1-1/2 cups all-purpose flour
1/2 cup baking cocoa
1 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon baking powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
1-1/4 cups milk
1 can (16 ounces) vanilla frosting
Green food coloring
WITCH HATS:
1 can (16 ounces) vanilla frosting
2 teaspoons milk
Assorted food coloring of your choice
12 to 16 ice cream sugar cones
Fruit Roll-Ups, licorice and assorted candies of your choice

Steps:

  • In a large bowl, cream butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Add eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition. Combine the flour, cocoa, baking soda, baking powder and salt; add to creamed mixture alternately with milk. Beat just until combined., Fill paper- or foil-lined muffin cups two-thirds full. Bake at 350° for 18-22 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean. Cool for 10 minutes before removing from pan to a wire rack to cool completely. , Tint frosting green; frost cupcakes. For hats, combine frosting and milk; tint with food coloring. Frost ice cream cones. Using small cookie cutters, cut out shapes from Fruit Roll-Ups; arrange on hats. Add licorice for hair and candies for faces. Place a hat on each witch.

5 rolls Betty Crocker™ Fruit Roll-Ups® chewy fruit flavored snack (any flavor)
4 unpeeled apple slices
2 tablespoons peanut butter
8 miniature marshmallows

Steps:

  • Unroll Fruit Roll-Ups fruit flavored snack rolls; remove paper. Wrap each apple slice with 1 fruit flavored snack so side of slice with peel is smooth.
  • With kitchen scissors, cut 2 long, tongue-shaped pieces from remaining Fruit Roll-Ups fruit flavored snack.
  • Spread 1 side of each apple slice with peanut butter. Place 1 end of tongue-shaped pieces on 2 of the apple slices. Arrange 4 marshmallows on top of the peanut butter on each of these slices.
  • Place remaining apple slices, peanut butter side down, on top of the marshmallows. Squeeze apples slices gently together.

1 Blazin' Blue/Green Betty Crocker™ Fruit Roll-Ups® fruit flavored snack from the Blastin' Berry Hot Colors® pack or Fruit Fusion™ variety pack
2 paper lollipop sticks
4 marshmallows
1 Betty Crocker™ Fruit Roll-Ups® fruit flavored snack in another color
Other candy pieces, as desired
Black decorating icing
4 Betty Crocker™ Candy Shop candy eyeballs (from 0.88-oz package)

Steps:

  • Unroll fruit flavored snacks; remove paper. Cut Blazin' Blue/Green fruit flavored snack in half, separating the blue and green.
  • Insert lollipop stick into 2 marshmallows, keeping marshmallows together on 1 end of stick. Repeat for second pop.
  • Place marshmallows on 1 half of fruit flavored snack strip, and wrap around so that marshmallows are covered. Press open ends of fruit flavored snack together to cover marshmallows. Repeat for other half of fruit flavored snack strip and marshmallows.
  • Cut strips from the second fruit flavored snack (different color); cut slits to create hair. Press on, and fold over to hang down over top of marshmallow to make hair.
  • Cut 2 strips, 2x1/4 inch each, also from second fruit snack. Roll up each strip. Press each roll on sides of head to form bolts, or use candy pieces attached with black icing.
  • Press candy eyeballs on face. Use black icing to make scar and mouth.
