Number Of Ingredients 12

2 bacon strips, diced
1/4 cup chopped onion
1 medium red potato, cubed
1 small carrot, halved lengthwise and thinly sliced
1/2 cup water
3/4 teaspoon chicken bouillon granules
1 cup milk
2/3 cup frozen corn
1/8 teaspoon pepper
2-1/2 teaspoons all-purpose flour
2 tablespoons cold water
3/4 cup shredded cheddar cheese

Steps:

  • In a large saucepan, cook bacon over medium heat until crisp; remove to paper towels. Drain, reserving 1 teaspoon drippings. In the drippings, saute onion until tender. Add the potato, carrot, water and bouillon. Bring to a boil. Reduce heat; cover and simmer for 15-20 minutes or until the vegetables are almost tender., Stir in the milk, corn and pepper. Cook 5 minutes longer. Combine the flour and cold water until smooth; gradually whisk into soup. Bring to a boil; cook and stir for 1-2 minutes or until thickened. Remove from the heat; stir in cheese until melted. Sprinkle with bacon.

1 tablespoon vegetable oil
4 breast half, bone and skin removed (blank)s skinless, boneless chicken breast halves
1 cup Swanson® Chicken Stock
2 tablespoons minced garlic
½ teaspoon dried rosemary leaves, crushed
½ teaspoon dried thyme leaves, crushed
¼ teaspoon ground black pepper
2 large large sweet potatoes, cut into 1/2-inch pieces
2 cups fresh or frozen whole green beans

Steps:

  • Heat the oil in a 12-inch skillet over medium-high heat. Add the chicken and cook for 10 minutes or until it's well browned on both sides. Remove the chicken from the skillet.
  • Stir the stock, garlic, rosemary, thyme, black pepper, potatoes and green beans in the skillet and heat to a boil. Cook for 5 minutes.
  • Reduce the heat to low. Return the chicken to the skillet. Cover and cook for 10 minutes or until the chicken is cooked through and the potatoes are tender. Season as desired.

2 celery ribs
2 medium carrots
1 medium onion
2 teaspoons olive oil
4 garlic cloves, minced
4 medium potatoes, peeled and diced
2 cans (6-1/2 ounces each) minced clams, undrained
1 bottle (8 ounces) clam juice
1 cup plus 1 tablespoon water, divided
1 teaspoon dried thyme
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon pepper
1 can (12 ounces) evaporated milk
2 teaspoons cornstarch
2 bacon strips, cooked and crumbled

Steps:

  • Finely chop the celery, carrots and onion. In a Dutch oven, saute vegetables in oil until tender. Add garlic; cook 1 minute longer. Stir in the potatoes, clams, clam juice, 1 cup water, thyme, salt and pepper. Bring to a boil. Reduce heat; cover and simmer for 12-15 minutes or until potatoes are tender., Gradually stir in milk; heat through. Combine cornstarch and remaining 1 tablespoon water until smooth; stir into chowder. Bring to a boil; cook and stir for 2 minutes or until thickened. Stir in bacon.

Number Of Ingredients 12

2 cups cold water
2 cups chopped potatoes
1/2 cup sliced carrots
1/2 cup sliced celery
1/4 cup chopped onion
1 Tbsp. chopped fresh chives
1 tsp. salt
dash pepper
1/4 cup (1/2 stick) butter or margarine
1/4 cup flour
2 cups milk
2 cups KRAFT Shredded Sharp Cheddar Cheese

Steps:

  • Bring water, vegetables, chives and seasonings to boil in medium saucepan on high heat. Reduce heat to low; cover. Simmer 10 minutes. Do not drain.
  • Melt butter in large saucepan on low heat. Stir in flour. Cook 2 minutes or until bubbly. Gradually add milk, stirring until well blended. Cook on medium heat until mixture boils and thickens, stirring constantly. Add cheese; cook until melted, stirring constantly.
  • Add vegetable mixture; cook until heated through. Do not boil.

1 lb round steak, cut in 1/2 inch pieces
2 tablespoons oil
3 medium potatoes, pared and coarsely chopped
1 medium rutabaga, pared and coarsely chopped
2 cups coarsely chopped cabbage
3 medium carrots, pared and coarsely chopped
2 medium onions, chopped
2 tablespoons parsley
1 tablespoon vinegar
1 1/2 teaspoons salt
1 teaspoon sugar
1/4 teaspoon pepper
1 bay leaf
6 cups water

Steps:

  • In dutch oven, brown steak (half at a time) in oil. Add potatoes, rutabaga, cabbage, carrots, onions, parsley, vinegar, sugar, salt, pepper, and bay leaf. Add 6 cups of water. Simmer, covered, 1 to 1 1/4 hours or until meat is tender. Remove bay leaf.
