SNICKERS CAKE RECIPE
The only thing better than a classic chocolate layer cake is one with a boiled caramel frosting with peanuts and even more caramel in the middle. This cake will be at home on the dessert sideboard any time of the year, but it makes an especially good Halloween treat.

- Prepare Cake Layers: Preheat oven to 350°F. Grease (with shortening) 2 9-inch round can pans. Line the bottoms of each pan with parchment paper; grease paper with cooking spray. Dust pans with flour, tapping out excess.
- Prepare the cake mix according to package directions, replacing water with whole milk and adding the vanilla. Fold in the chopped candy bars. Divide batter between prepared pans.
- Bake in preheated oven until a wooden pick inserted in center comes out clean, 25 to 30 minutes. Cool cakes in pans on a wire rack 10 minutes. Remove cakes from pans and transfer to a wire rack; let cool completely, about 30 minutes.
- Prepare the Frosting: Combine dark brown sugar, butter, and salt in a medium saucepan. Bring to a boil over medium-high heat, stirring frequently. Cook 2 minutes, stirring constantly, until the sugar dissolves and the mixture is smooth. Stir in half-and-half; return to a boil. Remove from heat and stir in vanilla. Cool 15 minutes. Gradually stir in enough powdered sugar to make a thick, spreadable frosting.
- Assemble cake: Place 1 cake layer on a serving plate; spread with frosting and sprinkle with chopped caramel candies and peanuts. Top with second cake layer; spread remaining frosting on top and sides of cake. Garnish with candy bars as desired.
SNICKERS CAKE {GOOEY CARAMEL CHOCOLATE CAKE} RECIPE
This Snickers Cake is so gooey and full of chocolate and caramel. It has been a family favorite for years, and it's not hard to see why.

- Mix together cake mix as directed on the box adding the eggs, water, and vegetable oil. Pour half of the batter into a greased 9x13 baking dish and bake at 350 degrees for 20 minutes.
- While it bakes, unwrap all the caramels (don't have your husband help- he will eat half of them. I am totally speaking from experience). Put the caramels, milk, and butter in a sauce pan and melt over low heat, stirring constantly until caramel is melted and smooth.
- Pour the caramel on the cake as soon as it is finished baking. Sprinkle the chocolate chips and pecans on top of the caramel. Spread the remaining half of the prepared cake mix batter on top. Bake for 20 more minutes at 350 degrees.
- If desired, serve topped with ice cream and hot fudge.

- Heat oven to 350°F. Spray 13x9-inch pan with cooking spray.
- In large microwavable bowl, microwave 1/2 cup frosting uncovered 5 to 10 seconds or until frosting is thin. Beat in milk with whisk until blended. Stir in dry cake mix. Spread batter evenly in pan. Sprinkle chocolate chips and 1/3 cup peanuts evenly on top.
- Bake 28 to 32 minutes or until toothpick inserted in center of cake comes out almost clean. Cool completely, about 1 hour 30 minutes.
- When ready to serve, spoon and spread whipped topping evenly over top of cooled cake. Sprinkle chopped candy bars and 2 tablespoons peanuts on top. In small microwavable bowl, microwave 1/4 cup frosting uncovered on High 10 to 15 seconds or until thin enough to drizzle. Using fork, drizzle warmed frosting over cake. Stored loosely covered in refrigerator.

- Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Grease and flour a 9x13 inch pan.
- In a medium bowl, sift together flour, baking powder and salt. Set aside.
- In a large bowl, cream shortening and 2 cups sugar until fluffy. Add eggs one at a time, mixing well with each addition. Alternately add milk and flour mixture in three stages, mixing well with each addition.
- In a small bowl, mix 3 tablespoons sugar with 1 teaspoon cinnamon. Sprinkle this mixture evenly over cake.
- Pour into prepared 9x13 inch pan and bake at 350 degrees F (175 degrees C) for 35 to 40 minutes or until done.

GRAMMY'S CRAB CAKES
Enjoy these simple and savory crab cake taste sensations. I learned to make these from my beloved mother-in-law, but Grammy never uses a recipe. I measured every pinch and dash while she made them. This is one of our all-time family favorites. There are never any leftovers. Crab cakes are best if made with fresh crab, but they are great with canned crab as well.

- Set an oven rack about 6 inches from the heat source and preheat the oven's broiler. Lightly grease a broiler pan or baking sheet.
- Shred crabmeat and place in a medium bowl with bread crumbs and parsley. Mix together and season with salt and pepper.
- Whisk egg, mayonnaise, green onion, dry mustard, and hot pepper sauce together in a small bowl. Add to crabmeat mixture and mix well. Form into 6 patties and place on the prepared pan. Brush tops with melted butter.
- Cook under the preheated broiler until lightly browned and cooked through, 10 to 15 minutes.

- Preheat oven to 350°F.
- Set aside 1/2 cup each of chocolate chips and walnuts.
- Make cake mix according to directions.
- Pour 1/2 of the batter into the prepared spring form pan (around 10 inches by 3)pan and bake at 350°F for 20 minutes.
- In a saucepan over medium low heat melt caramels, margarine, and milk.
- Pour this over baked cake, top with 1 cup of chocolate chips and 1/2 cup walnuts.
- Pour remaining batter over this and sprinkle top with 1/2 cup walnuts.
- Bake again at 350°F for 20-30 minutes.
- Remove from heat; cool completely and frost with milk chocolate frosting.
- Sprinkle top with the remaining 1/2 cup chocolate chips and the 1/2 cup walnuts.

GRAMMY'S SNICKER CAKE
A bit different than the recipes currently posted. Very sweet, rich dessert that is super easy to make.

- Mix cake mix per directions.
- Pour half the batter into a greased 9x13 pan and bake at 350 for 15 minutes.
- Meanwhile, melt the caramels with the milk and butter in a sauce pan, careful not to let it boil and scorch.
- Remove from heat once melted.
- Pour caramel mixture over baked cake.
- Sprinkle the chocolate chips and peanuts over the caramel mixture.
- Cover with remaining batter.
- Lower temp to 250 and bake for 20 minutes, then bake at 350 for 10 minutes.
- Let the cake cool before you try to cut it.
- Note: I bought two small packages of caramels in the candy aisle and unwrapped them all before starting.
- Note: I used more than the 1/2 cup of peanuts since I didn't think that was enough!
