- Drain pineapple, reserving juice. Add enough cold water to juice to measure 3 cups: pour into saucepan. Bring to boil:remove from heat. Add dry jello mixes, stir for 2 minutes. Stir in cranberry sauce. Pour into large bowl. Refrigerate for 1 1/2 hours or until slightly thickened. Stir in pineapple, apples and walnuts. Refrigerate for 4 hours or until firm.
GRANDMA FREEL'S CRANBERRY SALAD
This is a recipe my grandma made for a local JELL-O® contest. She won first place! It is a delicious salad like nothing I have ever seen. I grew up eating this cranberry salad every year at Thanksgiving. It reminds me of my grandma, who I loved so much!

- Stir cranberries, sugar, and water together in a saucepan; cook over medium heat, stirring often, until most of the berries have popped open, about 20 minutes.
- Remove saucepan from heat. Stir gelatin into the cranberries mixture until dissolved completely; add celery, apple, and pecans and stir. Pour into a glass 13x9-inch dish.
- Refrigerate until set in the center, 10 to 12 hours.

- In mixing bowl, combing jello and boiling water; stir until dissolved. Add cranberry sauce to hot mixture; stir until melted. Allow to cool slightly . Yummy Cranberry Jello Salad with pineapple oranges and pecans. This amazing cranberry salad is sweet, tart and crunchy and the beautiful color makes the perfect addition to your holiday meal.

Steps:
- In large bowl, dissolve jello in 2 cups boiling water.
- Add pineapple juice to measuring cup and add water until you have 1.5 cups pineapple juice and water combined.
- Add pineapple juice/water to jello, stir.
- Place cranberries and sugar into food processor and pulse till sugar is thoroughly combined and the cranberries are in small pieces
- Add chopped apple, pineapple, mandarin oranges, nuts and cranberry pieces to large serving container..
- Add liquid jello to dish and stir everything around.
- Place in fridge.
- When ready to serve, with a fork, stir cranberry jello salad around with a fork, breaking up the jello.
- Transfer to a serving dish and enjoy!
GRANDMA NORMA'S JELL-O SALAD (CRANBERRY-APPLE JELL-O SALAD)
This is called "Grandma Norma's Jell-o" in my family because my cousins' Grandma Norma used to make it for holiday dinners. Now that Grandma Norma hasn't been with us for many years, the tradition lives on as my Grandma Katie makes it each Thanksgiving. It's my favorite part of the Thanksgiving dinner, and I always get to take home all the leftovers. Last year Grandma Katie finally gave me the recipe, so I thought I'd share it with you all. Do it in a nice cut glass bowl for easy serving, or use a mold if desired. The walnuts are nice but not necessary, and we don't use them if small children will be dining with us. Cook time is chill time.

- Place cranberries, mandarin oranges, and pecans into a food processor and pulse several times to chop; process mixture until finely ground, about 30 seconds. Transfer mixture into a large bowl.
- Mix pineapple, gelatin, sugar, boiling water, and cold water together in a separate bowl until gelatin and sugar have dissolved. Pour gelatin mixture into cranberry mixture and stir. Pour into a gelatin mold and refrigerate 8 hours or overnight before serving.
