NOT YOUR GRANDMA'S BREAD PUDDING

Steps:
- For the bread pudding: In a large bowl, whisk together the cream and eggs. Add the brown sugar, raisins, butter, cinnamon, ginger and 1 cup granulated sugar. Mix well. Gently stir the bread cubes into the egg mixture. Refrigerate for 1 hour.
- Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F and coat a 9-by-13-inch baking dish with cooking spray.
- Pour the bread mixture into the prepared baking dish. If desired, sprinkle the top with the remaining 2 tablespoons of sugar. Bake until a knife inserted into the middle comes out clean, 45 to 50 minutes.
- Meanwhile, for the bourbon sauce: Combine the confectioners' sugar, bourbon, butter, milk and cinnamon in a medium saucepan, bring to a simmer over low heat, whisking constantly until thickened and no longer watery, 2 to 3 minutes. Serve with the bread pudding warm, at room temperature or chilled.
GRANDMA'S CHRISTMAS BREAD

- In bread machine pan, place the first seven ingredients in order suggested by manufacturer. Select basic bread setting. Choose crust color and loaf size if available. Bake according to bread machine directions (check dough after 5 minutes of mixing; add 1 to 2 tablespoons of water or flour if needed)., Just before the final kneading (your bread machine may audibly signal this), add the raisins, currants and lemon zest. In a small bowl, combine glaze ingredients; drizzle over cooled bread.

GRANDMA EMMA'S SPICE LOAF
A quick bread, moist and full of raisins and nuts. A family favorite for the winter holidays.

Steps:
- Soak raisins in coffee until plump. Do not drain.
- Cream together the shortening, sugar and eggs. Blend in molasses and vanilla.
- In a large bowl mix together the cinnamon, nutmeg, cloves, ginger, flour, baking soda, and salt. Make a well in the center of the bowl.
- Add the liquid ingredients to the well in the dry ingredients. Stir in coffee with raisins and nuts. Pour batter into a greased 9x5 inch loaf pan.
- Bake in a preheated 350 degree F(175 degrees C) oven for one hour.

GRANDMA'S RAISIN BREAD
My grandmother's famous recipe. She mad it often and we all loved it. I must admit that I do not know why my family calls this raisin bread, because it has always seemed more like a cake to me.

Steps:
- Place raisins and 2 cups water in sauce pan and bring to boil for five minutes.
- Remove from heat and add 1 cup cold water.
- Let cool until it is lukewarm.
- Cream together sugar and shortening, then add the salt, cinnamon, nutmeg, cloves and baking soda. Mix well.
- Add raisins and flour to dry mixture. Mix well.
- Bake in greased and floured cake pan for one hour at 350°F.
- Recipe is great as is or add some cream cheese frosting.

CINNAMON RAISIN BREAD
My grandma's raisin bread is a long-standing tradition in our family.

- In a large bowl, dissolve yeast in warm water. Add the milk, sugar, butter, eggs, salt and 2 cups flour. Beat on medium speed for 2 minutes. Stir in enough remaining flour to form a soft dough., Turn onto a floured surface; knead until smooth and elastic, about 6-8 minutes. Place in a greased bowl, turning once to grease top. Cover and let rise in a warm place until doubled, about 1 hour., In a saucepan, bring first five filling ingredients to a boil. Reduce heat to medium; cook for 15-20 minutes or until almost all the liquid is absorbed, stirring occasionally. Remove from the heat; set aside. , Punch dough down. Turn onto a lightly floured surface; knead for 1 minute. Divide in half. Roll each half into a 12x8-in. rectangle; brush with egg. Spread half of the filling over each rectangle to within 1/2 in. of edges. Roll up jelly-roll style, starting with a short side; pinch to seal. Place each loaf seam side down in a greased 9x5-in. loaf pan. Cover and let rise until doubled, about 1 hour. , Bake at 350° for 35-40 minutes or until bread sounds hollow when tapped. Cover loosely with foil if top browns to quickly. Remove from pans to cool on a wire rack.
