Ham and cheese Hawaiian bread bowl Recipe - (4.1/5) image

Provided by á-39535

Number Of Ingredients 9

Ingredients
1 loaf hawaiian bread
1/2 cup sour cream
8 ozs cream cheese (softened)
2 cups sharp cheddar cheese
1/2 cup green onion (chopped)
1/2 cup ham (or chopped dried beef)
4 ozs green chilies (chopped)
1 tbsp worcestershire sauce

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 350°. Cut a round hole in the top of the bread bowl and hollow out, making sure not to puncture the sides or bottom of the bread bowl. Cut up the hollowed out bread into cubes to use for dipping. Combine the rest of the ingredients with an electric mixer and pour into bread bowl. Wrap in double thick foil and place on a cookie sheet. Bake for about 1 hour.

HAM AND SWISS HOT BREAD BOWL DIP

Ham and Swiss Hot Bread Bowl Dip image

This dip is so creamy... and delicious. The ranch dressing and the ham add tons of flavor. It's an easy appetizer for your next party!

Time 1h15m

Number Of Ingredients 7

8 oz cream cheese
8 oz sour cream
8 oz mayonnaise
1/2 pkg ranch style dressing mix
5 green onions, minced
1 lb deli ham, cut up small
5 oz Swiss cheese, shredded

Steps:

  • 1. Combine all ingredients. Hollow out one loaf of bread. Put dip in and place on large enough sheet pan to catch any spillage. Bake at 350 degrees for one hour.
  • 2. Cube up the other loaf of bread (as well as the bread removed from the loaf used to bake the dip) and toast in oven 7-10 minutes. Dip is also good with veggies or crackers.

HAM & WHITE CHEDDAR DIP BAKED IN A BREAD BOWL

Ham & White Cheddar Dip Baked in a Bread Bowl image

Just a nice twist on ham and cheese. Simple to throw together and baked right in a pumpernickel bread bowl. Now, you could use rye, whole wheat, but the pumpernickel just tastes the best to me. Just a nice change for a party dip.

Provided by SarasotaCook

Categories     < 4 Hours

Time 1h15m

Yield 4 Cups of dip, approx, 12 serving(s)

Number Of Ingredients 13

1 round loaf pumpernickel bread
1 (8 ounce) package cream cheese
2 cups white cheddar cheese (shredded)
1 1/2 cups sour cream (no low fat)
2/3 cup ham (pre-cooked and fine chopped. I just cut a thick slice of ham from the deli)
1/2 cup scallion, fine diced (green and white parts)
1 small onion, diced fine
1/2 teaspoon minced garlic
1/3 cup green chili (I use the mild, chopped fine. You can find them right in the Mexican or ethnic aisle in any major gr)
1 jalapeno pepper (to taste, seeds and ribs remove and fine chopped. You can use more of less if you want)
1/8 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
salt
pepper

Steps:

  • Dip -- First make sure your cream cheese is room temperature Then, in a medium bowl, add the cheddar cheese, cream cheese, sour cream, ham, chilies (green and jalapeno), scallions, onion, garlic, worcestershire, salt and pepper. Mix well and set to the side.
  • Bread -- Cut off a thin slice from the top of the loaf and scoop out the bread from the inside. Cut down as far as you can go with your knife without cutting through the outside of the loaf. Then use a spoon to get the rest of the bread out. That makes for great dipping.
  • Fill hollowed bread loaf with the dip; cover with reserved top slice of bread loaf and wrap the loaf in foil. In a 350 degree oven, bake 1 hour. Serve with reserved bread, crackers, bread sticks, vegetables, broccoli, even par boiled fingerlings are great with this. Endless things to dip.
  • A fun easy different dip which is just that little bit unique. And the best part it is kid and adult friendly and you can make it ahead. Just don't fill the bread bowl until you are ready to bake it. If I go to someones house, I usually bake it for about 45 and then just finish it in the oven there.
