BAKED HAM WITH BOURBON GLAZE

Baked Ham With Bourbon Glaze image

This is a classic Southern recipe for Easter or Christmas. The sweetness of the honey and molasses is cut by the bourbon and orange juice, making for a perfect glaze. • Remove skin from the ham by running a knife around the edge where skin meets ham. Then carefully run fingers between the skin and the fat layer to gently remove the skin from the ham. You want to keep as much of the fat on the ham as you can.
  • With a knife carefully score the fat layer in a diamond pattern. Try to avoid cutting into the meat of the ham, just score the fat.
  • Place ham in a baking dish and bake in over for 10 minutes. This allows the score marks in the fat to open up.
