1/2 cup peeled sliced ginger
1 cup water
1/4 cup pure maple syrup
1 cup carbonated water
1 tablespoon lemon juice
grated lemon, rind of

Steps:

  • for syrup combine water and ginger in saucepan, simmer for 30 minutes.
  • cool slightly and strain.
  • add maple syrup, stir to mix.
  • stir 2 tbsp of syrup into carbonated water, add lemon juice and peel.

Just remember turmeric stains. I make mine in an old mason jar, wrapped in an old tea towel! Turmeric is used for medicinal purposes in India.
