Steps:

  • Heat oven to 375 degrees. In large bowl, beat butter, granulated sugar, brown sugar, and vanilla with electric mixer until creamy. Add eggs; beat well. Stir together flour, baking soda and salt; gradually add to butter mixture, beating until well blended. Stir in chocolate chips and nuts, if desired. Drop by teaspoons onto ungreased cookie sheet. bake 8 to 10 minutes or until lightly browned. cool slightly; remove from cookie sheet to wire rack. Cool completely.

¾ cup packed brown sugar
¾ cup white sugar

8 (1.5 ounce) bars milk chocolate candy bar (such as Hershey's®)

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 375 degrees F (190 degrees C). Butter a 9x13-inch baking pan.
  • Mix flour, salt, and baking soda together in a bowl.
  • Combine butter, brown sugar, white sugar, and vanilla extract in a separate bowl. Beat in eggs 1 at a time. Mix sugar mixture gradually into flour mixture. Spread 1/2 the dough evenly into the prepared pan.
