Homemade Blackening Seasoning for the Pantry image

Stock your pantry with the best ever homemade blackened seasoning! This classic Cajun spice blend is perfect to keep on hand for blackening fish, chicken, or shrimp. Use it for cooking all sorts of dinners like mahi mahi fish tacos or blackened salmon! Low carb and gluten free.

4 tbsp paprika (Sweet, smoked, or a mixture)
2 tbsp kosher salt
2 tbsp chili powder
2 tbsp garlic powder
2 tbsp oregano
2 tbsp thyme
1 tbsp black pepper
1 tbsp onion powder
1 tbsp cumin
1 -2 tsp cayenne pepper (to taste)

Steps:

  • Add all ingredients to an airtight glass spice jar. Close and shake to combine.
  • Store in a cool, dry place like a cabinet, drawer, or pantry. Use on everything!!
