Provided by Sarah Pope

Number Of Ingredients 6

16 ounces filtered water
1 large orange (or two small oranges)
1 lemon
1/2 tsp land-based sea salt
1 tsp Azomite powder (optional)
1 Tbl raw honey (optional, preferably local)

Steps:

  • Juice the orange and the lemon. Mix the fresh juices with the sea salt, honey, and optional azomite.
  • Blend the juice mixture with filtered water in a tall glass.
  • Serve electrolyte replacement at room temperature, NOT cold as this inhibits absorption.
  • Sip and drink half within about 1 hour. Consume the rest as needed.
  • Refrigerate leftovers. Use within 2-3 days.

My pediatrician gave this to my Mom at least '30-something' years ago. It is supposed to help reduce high fevers, vomiting and settle upset tummies. Gingerale still reminds me of being sick and stuck in bed all day with my comic books.

  • Grate ginger and squeeze out the juice using a mesh strainer. You should get about 1 tablespoon of ginger juice. Add freshly grated lemon juice, honey, and pink Himalayan salt to the ginger juice and whisk together to incorporate everything.
  • Add mint leaves and salt to a mixing bowl or a big measuring cup. Press down on the leaves using a muddler until your kitchen fills up with the aromas. You can also add ¼ lime wedge to the cup and press it along with the mint leaves. This will release the flavors and oils from the lime. Add sparkling water and pour the drink over ice-filled cups. Serve immediately.
  • Whisk orange juice and pink Himalayan salt. Add a natural sweetener such as pure maple syrup or honey if making this for kids. Add chilled mineral water or sparkling water, mix well and serve immediately.
