Slow Cooker Honey Mustard Chicken image

Tender slow cooker shredded chicken in a sweet but tangy honey mustard sauce.

2 lbs. boneless skinless chicken breasts
1/2 cup honey
1/2 cup yellow mustard
1 1/2 tsp. Worcestershire sauce
1/4 cup salted butter (melted)
2 garlic cloves (minced)
1/2 tsp. dried leaf oregano
1/2 tsp. pepper
1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 cup heavy cream ((WAIT TO ADD UNTIL THE END))

Steps:

  • Add the chicken breast to the bottom of your slow cooker.
  • In a small bowl combine the honey, mustard, Worcestershire sauce, melted butter, garlic, oregano, salt, and pepper. Wait to add the heavy cream until the end of the cooking time.
  • Pour the honey mustard mixture over the chicken breasts.
  • Place the lid on the slow cooker. Cook on LOW for 6 hours.
  • When the cooking time is up, add the heavy cream.
  • Using 2 forks, shred the chicken right in the slow cooker. Stir until the cream and sauce have combined.
  • Serve and enjoy!

1/3 cup grainy mustard
1/3 cup honey
1/3 cup olive oil
1/4 cup butter, softened
3 pounds red potatoes, chopped into 1/2 inch pieces
1 large yellow onion, chopped
1/2 cup olive oil
1/2 tablespoon salt
1/2 tablespoon black pepper

Steps:

  • HONEY MUSTARD CHICKEN: Put whole chicken in slow cooker. In a small bowl, whisk together mustard, honey, olive oil, and butter, and pour over chicken. Set slow cooker on HIGH for 6 hours or LOW for 8 hours. Remove from slow cooker and pour some of the leftover juices over the chicken to serve. ROASTED POTATOES: Preheat oven to 425°F. Grease a 9x13 inch baking dish. Put potatoes, onions, olive oil, salt, and pepper into baking dish and stir together. Bake for about an hour, or until potatoes are golden brown and crispy, stirring every 15 minutes.

4 chicken thighs
4 chicken drumsticks
2 tablespoons butter
1/2 cup honey
1/2 cup sweet-hot mustard
1 teaspoon salt
1 tablespoon curry powder

Steps:

  • Brown chicken in skillet and transfer to slow cooker.
  • Melt butter is a small saucepan. Remove from heat and add all other ingredients, stirring well. Pour over chicken.
  • Cook on LOW for 4 to 6 hours. Serve with rice.
  • Note1: You can also use one whole chicken cut up into serving pieces. If using just breasts, watch for drying out - fortunately there is a lot of sauce.
  • Note2: Dijon mustard is good in this, instead of sweet and hot mustard.
  • Note3: This recipe works well without browning the chicken, although I prefer to brown it. You can use skinless.

This is one of my favorite slow cooker recipes cause it takes no time to prepare and is soooo good! We usually just serve it with rice and some veg.

1 teaspoon ground cumin
½ teaspoon dried thyme
½ teaspoon paprika
8 skinless, boneless chicken thighs
2 teaspoons vegetable oil
3 cloves garlic, finely chopped
¼ cup good-quality honey
2 tablespoons Dijon mustard
½ cup chicken broth
salt and freshly ground black pepper to taste

Steps:

  • Combine cumin, thyme, and paprika in a small bowl and rub chicken thighs with spice mix on all sides.
  • Heat oil in a skillet over medium heat and brown chicken on all sides, about 10 minutes. Place chicken in a slow cooker. Cover with chopped garlic.
  • Stir honey and mustard together in a small bowl and pour over chicken. Pour in chicken broth and close slow cooker.
  • Cook on Low until chicken is cooked through, about 6 hours. Season with salt and pepper.

Chicken that is tender and full of flavor with only a few ingredients - the secret ingredient being liquid smoke!

Number Of Ingredients 6

4-5 skinless, boneless chicken breasts
salt and pepper to taste
liquid smoke
2/3 cup Dijon mustard
1/3 cup honey
2 garlic cloves, minced

Steps:

  • Spray slow cooker with non-stick cooking spray.
  • Sprinkle chicken breasts generously with salt and pepper and then give both sides a generous dousing of liquid smoke (I did 2-3 squirts on each side of the chicken breast). Place chicken breasts inside of slow cooker.
  • In a bowl, mix together mustard, honey, and garlic. Pour of the top of the chicken breasts and place lid on top of slow cooker.
  • Cook on LOW for 5-6 hours or HIGH 3-4 hours (but I highly recommend cooking on low).
  • Remove chicken from slow cooker and serve.
