INSTANT POT® BUFFALO WINGS

Instant Pot® Buffalo Wings image

Buffalo wings made simple in an Instant Pot® and without the fry. The Instant Pot® cooks these to perfection. They hold together for easy handling but as soon as you sink your teeth into them, they are fall-off-the-bone tender. Serve with carrot sticks, celery, and ranch if desired.

Time 40m

Yield 8

Number Of Ingredients 4

1 cup water
2 pounds chicken wings
¾ cup buffalo wing sauce
2 teaspoons dry ranch dressing mix

Steps:

  • Pour water into a multi-functional pressure cooker (such as Instant Pot®). Set trivet inside and place wings on top. Secure the lid, seal, and select Manual setting. Cook on high pressure according to manufacturer's instructions; set timer for 10 minutes. Allow 10 to 15 minutes for pressure to build.
  • Mix wing sauce and ranch dressing mix in a large bowl. Line a baking sheet with aluminum foil.
  • Release pressure carefully using the quick-release method according to manufacturer's instructions, about 5 minutes. Unlock and remove the lid carefully. Transfer wings to the bowl of sauce using tongs. Toss to coat.
  • Place a wire baking rack over the foil-lined baking sheet and arrange wings on top.
  • Set an oven rack about 6 inches from the heat source and preheat the oven's broiler to high. Broil wings for 5 minutes. Flip wings and cook until crispy, about 5 minutes more. Toss with any remaining sauce if desired.

INSTANT POT HONEY BUFFALO WINGS

Instant Pot Honey Buffalo Wings image

Instant Pot Honey Buffalo Wings are sticky, sweet and spicy buffalo wings with instructions on both pressure cooker and slow cooker methods!

Provided by Marcie

Categories     Appetizers

Time 15m

Number Of Ingredients 7

1.5 lbs. chicken wings (I used a party pack already prepped into drummettes and flats)
garlic powder
salt and pepper (to taste)
4 tablespoons unsalted butter
6 tablespoons buffalo hot sauce (I used Frank's Red Hot Wings Buffalo Sauce)
2 tablespoons honey
Homemade No Mayo Greek Yogurt Ranch Dressing

Steps:

  • Season the wings with garlic powder, salt and pepper to taste.
  • Place 1 cup of water in the bottom of the Instant Pot. Place the trivet inside the Instant Pot and place the wings on top of the trivet.
  • Secure the lid and select the Pressure button and enter 8 minutes cooking time. The Instant Pot will beep once it comes to pressure in about 15 minutes, then once again after the 8 minutes of cooking time. When the wings are done cooking, quick release the pressure and remove the lid when safe to do so.
  • Preheat the broiler. Place the wings in a single layer on a foil lined baking sheet. Broil on the middle rack of the oven for 3-5 minutes per side or until the skin is golden brown and crisped. Remove from heat.
  • Place the butter in small sauce pan and cook over medium low heat until melted. Add the buffalo sauce and honey and cook until simmering, about 2-3 minutes.
  • Place the wings in a bowl and coat with the desired amount of sauce. Serve immediately and enjoy!
  • Place the wings in a large bowl and season with the desired amount of garlic powder, salt and pepper.
  • In a small bowl, melt the butter. Add the buffalo sauce and honey and stir until combined.
  • Pour 1/4 cup of the sauce over the wings, followed by 1/4 cup of water, and toss to coat evenly (add a bit more sauce and water if using a larger amount of chicken wings).
  • Add the wings to the Instant Pot or slow cooker and secure the lid. Select Slow Cook on High for 2 hours and remove the lid to check for doneness (the meat will begin separating from the bone when done).
  • Preheat the broiler. Place the wings in a single layer on a foil lined baking sheet. Broil on the middle rack of the oven for 3-5 minutes per side or until the skin is golden brown and crisped. Remove from heat.
  • Heat the remaining buffalo sauce in the microwave or sauce pan and place the wings in a bowl. Toss the wings with the desired amount of sauce, then serve immediately. Enjoy!

  • Marinate Chicken Wings: Marinate the chicken wings with the Chicken Wing Marinade for 20 minutes.
  • Heat Up Pressure Cooker: Heat up your pressure cooker (Instant Pot: press Sauté button and click the adjust button to go to Sauté More function). Make sure your pot is as hot as it can be when you place the chicken wings into the pot (Instant Pot: wait until the indicator says HOT). This will prevent the chicken wings from sticking to the pot.
  • Brown Chicken Wings: Add 1 tablespoon of peanut oil into the pot. Ensure to coat the oil over the whole bottom of the pot. Add the marinated chicken wings into the pot (do not discard the chicken wing marinade). Then, brown the chicken wings for roughly 30 seconds on each side. Flip a few times as you brown them as the soy sauce and sugar can be burnt easily. Remove and set aside.
  • Sauté Shallot, Star Anise, Ginger, Garlic: Reduce the heat to medium (Instant pot: press cancel button, then press sauté button). Add the minced shallot, star anise and sliced ginger, then stir for roughly a minute. Add the minced garlic and stir until fragrant (roughly 30 seconds).
