This merry cocktail will keep spirits bright at your next holiday gathering. It's easy to make by infusing vodka with candy canes, then using more canes for a clever rim decoration.

Ingredients

3 cups vodka (your choice)
15 to 20 miniature candy canes
Chocolate-flavored syrup
Crushed candy canes
Ice
4 oz (1/2 cup) candy cane-infused vodka
2 oz (1/4 cup) peppermint schnapps

Steps:

To make infused vodka, pour vodka into airtight jar; add candy canes and seal jar. Let stand 10 to 12 hours to infuse the flavor, shaking periodically throughout the day.
To decorate rim of glass, pour chocolate syrup on 1 plate; place crushed candy canes on second plate. Dip rim of glass into chocolate; dip immediately into candy.
To make cocktail, in shaker full of ice, pour vodka and schnapps; shake. Pour into glass. If desired, squeeze some additional chocolate syrup into glass.

Steps:

16 fluid ounces white creme de cacao
2 quarts half-and-half
1 splash grenadine syrup
16 small candy canes

Steps:

Mix schnapps, creme de cacao, half-and-half, and grenadine together in a pitcher; refrigerate until chilled, at least 1 hour.
Stir mixture before pouring into martini glasses to serve; garnish each glass with a candy cane.

½ cup butter
½ cup shortening
1 cup sifted confectioners' sugar
1 egg
1 ½ teaspoons almond extract
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
2 ½ cups sifted all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon salt
½ teaspoon red food coloring

Steps:

Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (180 degrees C).
Mix well the shortening and butter, sugar, egg, almond and vanilla. In a separate bowl, mix flour and salt and add to shortening mixture. Divide dough in half.
Blend red food coloring into one half. Roll 1 teaspoon of the red dough and 1 teaspoon of the white dough on lightly floured board into 4 inch strips. Place strips side by side and press lightly together and twist like a rope. Curve top of rope down to look like the handle of a candy cane.
Bake 9 minutes or until lightly browned. Remove while still warm. Sprinkle with 1/2 cup crushed peppermint stick candy and 1/2 cup sugar (optional).

1 ounce Creme de Cacao
2 cups vanilla ice cream
1/3 cup milk
2 -3 miniature candy canes

Steps:

Put the peppermint schnapps, creme de cacao, vanilla ice cream, and one candy cane (break it into bits) in a blender and blend until thick and smooth. Add milk if the mixture is too thick to blend.
Garnish each glass with a mini candy cane, or the straight end of a full sized candy cane.

I have to come up with lots of ways to use up all the candy canes I goover broad buying. It helps cause I cant eat them all myself. Both me & my family love any kind of chocolate. I have to make lots of this everytime I make it.

1 1/2 cup(s) semi-sweet chocolate chips
1/2 cup(s) white vanilla baking chips
1 cup(s) heavy whipping cream
1/2 teaspoon(s) pepermint extract
2 - red food coloring drops
2 tablespoon(s) crushed candy canes

Steps:

First line 24 mini muffin cups with petit four paper cups. Then in a 1 quart saucepan melt the chocolate chios over low heat. Make sure to stir frequently. Then spoon about 2 tps. of the chocolate into each paper cup. Then with back of small measuring spoon spread the chocoalte upthe side to within 1/8 inch of the top. The chocolate shoudl be warm enough to spread. Then refrigerate for about 20 min or until fully set.
Next in a small microwaveable bowl, microwave the vanilla baking chips uncovered on high for about 1 min. Then stir in 3 Tbps. of the whipping cream. Return to the microwave about 30 seconds more or until chips are melted. Then stirmin the peppermint extract & food coloring. Let cool slightly about 5 mins.Then carefully remove paper cups from the chocolate cups.
Then in a medium bowl beat the remaining whipping cream with an eletric mixer on high speed until stiff peaks have form. Then fold in the melted vanilla chips mixutre into the chocolate cups. The refrigerate until serving. Just before serving,sprinkle with the candy.
