KETO SALMON PATTIES



Keto Salmon Patties image

Juicy salmon patties made low carb with almond flour and served with a dairy free homemade tartar sauce recipe.

Number Of Ingredients 20

2 pounds wild salmon (skin removed & cubed*)
½ cup avocado oil mayonnaise
2 eggs
1.5 teaspoons tamari soy sauce
Zest of 1 lemon
1.5 teaspoons stone ground or dijon mustard
3/4 cup almond flour
½ cup cream or almond milk
1 teaspoon each garlic & onion powder
1.5 teaspoons capers
2 teaspoons parsley
Kosher salt & pepper
Avocado oil
1/2 cup greek or plain dairy free yogurt
½ cup avocado oil mayonnaise
1 teaspoon prepared horseradish
1.5 teaspoons dill relish
Zest & juice of ½ a lemon
1 tablespoon fresh chives (finely sliced)
Kosher salt & pepper

Steps:

  • To a food processor, add all of the salmon patty ingredients(not the oiincluding ¾ teaspoon salt, and a few cracks of pepper. Blend to combine, but keep it just a tad chunky. Chill the salmon mixture in fridge for 30 minutes or up to 4 hours. Pre-heat large non-stick pan just below medium-high heat and wait for it to get hot. Grab enough salmon mixture to form a large golf ball, place in the pan, and press it into a patty using your fingers or a spatula. Add about 4 salmon patties to the pan and allow to cook for about 4 minutes, until deep golden in color. Flip and cook another 3 minutes. Remove salmon patties from pan and repeat with the second batch, adding a bit more oil if needed.
  • Meanwhile, make the tartar sauce by adding all the ingredients to a bowl, mix well, and check for seasoning. You want the flavors to be bright and tangy, so you may need more lemon juice.
  • Serve the salmon patties with the tartar sauce and garnish with more chives. Enjoy!

1 pound salmon (skin removed)
1 Tablespoon dijon
1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
2 Tablespoons green onion (chopped)
1 Tablespoon fresh dill
Juice of half a lemon
1 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon pepper
1/2 cup breadcrumbs
tarter sauce
butter lettuce

Steps:

  • Preheat the grill to medium high heat. Cut the salmon into one inch cubes. Place in a food processor with dijon, Worcestershire sauce, green onion, dill, lemon juice, salt and pepper. Pulse until combined. In a medium sized bowl add the salmon and breadcrumbs and mix.
  • Shape into four patties and place on the grill. Grill for 3-4 minutes on each side. Remove from grill and place on buns and desired toppings.

Keto salmon patties are so easy to make using canned salmon and pork rind crumbs for binding.

Number Of Ingredients 15

3 - 5 oz. cans of skinless boneless salmon (15 oz. total)
1 egg
2 green onions, chopped
1 tablespoon lemon juice
1 teaspoon dijon mustard
1 teaspoon dill, fresh
1/2 teaspoon pepper
1/2 cup pork rinds, crushed or pork rind crumbles
1 tablespoon butter or olive oil, for frying
1 cup avocado mayo
1 teaspoon dijon mustard
2 teaspoon sriracha
1/2 teaspoon lemon juice
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon black pepper

Steps:

  • Open can of salmon and drain thoroughly. You can also add the salmon to a paper towel or a cheesecloth and squeeze the excess liquid out.
  • In a mixing bowl, add salmon patty ingredients, except butter. Stir until all ingredients are combined.
  • Shape salmon patties with your hands into the shape of a hamburger patty, no more than a 1/2 inch thick.
  • In a skillet over medium heat, add in butter or olive oil and melt. Add salmon patties and cook on each side until golden brown, about 3 minutes. Remove from skillet and place on a plate.
  • While salmon patties are cooling, make the keto spicy mayo by whisking together spicy mayo ingredients in a small bowl.
  • Serve salmon patties on top of mixed greens, and drizzle spicy mayo over the top. Enjoy!
