4 tablespoons sugar
1 tablespoon fresh orange zest
3/4 cup low-fat yogurt (plain or flavored)
1 tablespoon lemon juice
2 tablespoons frozen orange juice concentrate
1 teaspoon poppy seed

Steps:

  • Using a food processor or blender, combine all dressing ingredients by pulsing for 5 seconds.
  • Pour over fresh fruit or drained canned fruits of choice.
  • Dressing Yield = 1 cup.
  • Serving size = 4 tablespoons dressing and 1 cup of fruit.

I got this from a lady at church who served it for lunch. At least four of us mobbed her the minute we tasted it (luckily she'd brought copies). It's almost like a cross between vidalia onion dressing and regular poppy seed dressing. It's sweet, creamy, and tangy all in one! This recipe yields enough to fill a small-ish mason jar. Cook time is chill time.

1 medium red onion
1 cup sugar
3/4 cup apple cider vinegar
2 tablespoons french's yellow mustard
2 teaspoons salt
2 tablespoons poppy seeds
2 cups canola oil

Steps:

  • Cut and place all ingredients in blender.
  • Puree.
  • Chill overnight.
  • Stores well in fridge for one week.
