APPLE CRISP - PERFECT AND EASY
I adapted this from a 50-year-old peach crisp recipe. Although it works well with peaches, it works even better with fresh, crisp cooking apples.

Mix until crumbly. Sprinkle the crumb mixture evenly oover the apple mixture. Bake for 25-35 minutes or ntil the apples are tender and te topping is golden brown. Remove from oven and serve warm with cream, ice cream or whipped cream, if desired. Note: I doubled the recipe and put it in a 9X12 pan, using only a cup of brown sugar. Bake for 40 minutes. For softer apples, pre-cook the apples in microwave for a few minutes.
GRANDMA'S OLD-FASHIONED APPLE CRISP
Simple, old-fashioned apple crisp. If you want something simple and homemade on hand, you can double the filling recipe (I use a 5-pound bag of Granny Smith apples) and freeze half of it.
