TURKEY AND BACON LETTUCE WRAPS

Number Of Ingredients 13

Ingredients

1/2 cup mayo
6 basil leaves (chopped)
1 tsp lemon juice
1 garlic clove (minced)
salt (to taste)
pepper (to taste)
1 head iceberg lettuce
4 slices deli turkey
4 slices bacon (cooked)
1 avocado (thinly sliced )
1 roma tomato (thinly sliced)
1 cucumber (thinly sliced)
1 carrot (thinly sliced )

Steps:

Combine all of the ingredients in a food processor, blend until smooth
Lay out two large lettuce leaves then layer on 1 slice of turkey and slather with Basil-Mayo.
Layer on a second slice of turkey followed by the bacon, and a few slices of avocado, tomato, cucumber and carrot.
Season lightly with salt and pepper then fold the bottom up, the sides in, and roll like a burrito.
Slice in half and serve cold.

1/4 red bell pepper, sliced thinly
1 tablespoon pesto sauce

Steps:

Lay the lettuce leaf flat on a plate.
Place one slice of turkey.
Spread with pesto.
Top with 1/2 of the red pepper slices.
Roll up.
Repeat with second piece of lettuce and turkey.

I'm not a huge participant in the low-no carb dieting. However, I am always concerned with my calorie intake. I find the easiest way to cut calories, is to cut out unneccessary carbs. One day, I decided to throw out the tortilla and try wrapping my meal in a lettuce leaf. You get the great taste and nutrition of a regular turkey sandwich or wrap, without the extra 200+ calories or added carbs. It's fast, easy, health and tasty!

2 slices of oven roasted turkey breast
2 slices tomatoes
1/2 teaspoon diced red onion
1/4 teaspoon mustard

Lay the lettuce leaf flat.
place turkey slices on first.
add red onions.
evenly distrbute mayo and mustard.
lay tomatoes on top.
season with salt and pepper, to taste.
tightly roll up the lettuce leaf.
